We had a wonderful time with Reinier and Helene staying at their place in Bocas and I would recommend it to any one who is after a holiday on a pretty much deserted beach. A bit of background which might help first time travellers to Bocas..... On Isla Colon you seem to have 2 options with accomodation. Either stay IN...

Helena and Reinier have created a very comfortable, retreat in the middle of the best beach in Bocas. I don't want to go on and on but they do have everything that you need. The location is fantastic, beaches, birds, monkees, palm trees, they have it all.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Playa Bluff Lodge at the beginning of September for 3 days. This is the ideal place if you want a quiet, relaxing spot between the jungle and the beach. Don’t come here if you want a big party. The house and rooms are beautiful and clean and Helene and Reinier couldn’t be more helpful....

Wow, where to begin. This place was great, we are still talking about it. The Lodge (it's really just a house) is just a stone's throw away from a gorgeous beach. The surf is quite rough and not suitable for swimming unless you hike to the northern end where we swam quite safely with our 7 year old. We hiked...

Playa Bluff Lodge feels like a private paradise!! With the jungle as your back yard, the beach as your front yard, spacious and clean rooms and excellent food and service, our stay at this lodge could not have been better. You can relax on the beach or your private balcony or explore the island with excellent guide Reinier. We loved...

Based on the overwhelming feedback on tripadvisor, we made reservations for four nights in Playa Bluff Lodge. It would be our last destination during our trip through Costa Rica and Panama and we wanted to end it with a splurge. First of all the rooms were spacious and clean. Downside: there is no A/C, during some hot and humid nights...

After reading this review and comparing it with what these guests have written in our guestbook, we don’t understand why they are so negative. This guestbook review will follow at the end of this manager comment. The guests complain in this review about the noise and the fact that they can hear everything. The lodge is a concrete building. Because...

Helene and Reinier are perfect hosts, always ready to give you advise on aything you want to do or to hang the hammocks for a lazy day on the beach. We spent 5 days at Playa bluff lodge. Never saw more nature ever before. The big rooms are clean, the food very nice. This is the best place if you like beach direct at the rainforrest. We hope that we can come back with some friend one day.
