#3 of 60 in Tangalle
A black and white seaside villa overlooking the Indian Ocean. The vibe is informal and the value is incredible. Tropical themes blend with unique designs, local fabrics, artwork and stylish furnishings creating a hub for you to experience the south coast. Within reach are UNESCO heritage sites, cave temples, game reserves including leopards, elephants and many more species, the country’s most diverse bird sanctuary, blue whales and a golf course. Many of our guests’ stays are longer as it is a good base to explore an impressive choice of truly experiential activities. Six uniquely designed bedrooms with a mix of styles, two of which form an annex that can work well for a family choosing to be separate from the main house. Fresh seafood inevitably is a feature, alongside a variety of local and Mediterranean cuisine. Barbecues in the garden overlooking the sea are popular. Guests can relax while taking a dip in the pool, read on our massive couches with sea views, prepare for trips into town or further afield.

The food is excellent. Probably the best we have had in Sri Lanka, we’ve been here 18 days now and stayed in 7 places so far. The staff are excellent and try very hard to please. You can’t swim in the sea which is within 20 foot of the hotel because of rocks and quite big waves but there is a nice beach ten minutes walk away with restaurants along it. The pool is good. The decor in the hotel is extremely nice and the place really does grow on you. The reason for only four stars is that they don’t have a licence for alcohol though seem to have beer and are quite happy for you to bring drink in which they will serve to you. Also there is no coffee or tea in the bedrooms

If you can, stay here in this boutique hotel for a few days. You will not be disappointed in any way. We stayed in King Coco room with a fabulous balcony overlooking the ocean. It's so peaceful (once you get used to the roar of the ocean!) and the pool was one of the best ever. The chef produces beautiful dishes - we were the only guests due to Covid and it was like having your own private villa with a private chef. We will be back.

This was our second time in this beautiful place in tangalle. Wow nothing has changed, the beautiful rooms are quite spacious and very clean. Located in on the beach of beautiful Tangalle. The staff , Dinuka who manages the place does an outstanding job to make our stay an extra special one. He will do anything from finding fresh sea food to advising on things to do and don't and educating us about the life of the sea and nature. While Isuru make sure we are looked after to reach the maximum comfort during our stay. And Dilshan, the man behind the kitchen, Bless his magical hands for the amazing food he makes, practically everything he makes is heavenly delicious.. This little heaven in tangalle is a must visit and I will definitely recommend visit for sure. Thank you all for making our stay so memorable. See you all soon. Best of luck till them. Cheers 🍻

We stayed in this fantastic small scale resort for the last two days of our Sri Lanka tour when the Corana crisis started to hit very hard back home. We thought if we should go in quarantine, this the place ! Friendly staff, great food and a view of the grand Indian Ocean.

This place is a little piece of heaven in Tangalla and is everything you'd wish to find in a hotel. Lovely bedrooms in a beautiful old house. The trip was made all the more special by the helpful, truly hospitable staff led by Dinuka. A big thank you to Dilshan, Isuru, Sudara, Hemantha and Chandrafala for making out stay so memorable. The food is local and equisite and we were even showed how our meals had been prepared. Could not recommend highly enough.

Amazing hotel, stuff is so profesional and hospital, first place where I understand how tasty may be Srilanka cuisine. I dream to get back there and again spend even few days. The view from the pool is amazing, rooms are so fancy. The best value you can get for this money.

Myself and My Husband visited Coco Tangalle for the 4th time. We visited for 3 Nights and stayed in King Coco room. our dates were 21st -24th December and at this time we were the only guests... People are missing a treat. From the moment we arrive we are made to feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. We arrange through Dinuka (The manager of the property) for a Private Masseur to come to the property where our balcony is used... This is so good. The Food is as good as any Top Restaurant and each day we are consulted on what we would like and how we would like it cooked. The entire Staff team are what makes this property so welcoming. Any trips that you care to go on Dinuka will do his best to arrange safely. A big Thank you to : Dinuka Isura Sudara Hemintha Dilshan Chandrapala Rasitha Sirinsadana and Jinaajansa We will return to Sri Lanka and when we do will go back to Coco Tangalle. There wasn't a guest Comment Book available at the time so I suggest this is put in place so that Guests can make their valuable comments.

Coco Tangalla is villa boutique Hotel on the roadside yet runs to the shore giving an unsparing view of the southern sea of beautiful Sri Lanka. With a hint of medieval Sri Lankan Architecture Famous Geoffrey Bawa’s another example of Tropical Modernism the key of cozy warm villa house. It’s 2 hours drive from Katunayaka Airport. Comfortable bedding and compact room environment gives You a much relaxing and warm feeling. They got six of them the double rooms. Foods provided on ala carte or they do have set menu Lunch, Dinner and Breakfast option where the food quality is at a high standard. There are many sea food options and Sri Lankan specialities. The beach is like private one as no outsiders hanging around, they are cleaner and enjoyable sea bath at your footstep. They got a very friendly, attentive staff who’s got candid attitude is a main factor of making your stay a comfortable and memorable. We will be visiting very soon. All the best with much love.

This was the second time we returned to Coco, and we will certainly be back again. We had initially booked into another Villa in Tangalle, but decided to check out as we didn’t have a good experience there. We booked last minute at Coco and Dinuka, the Manager and his exceptional team made us feel incredibly at home, beautiful rooms, stunning views of the Indian Ocean, delicious food! The best! Dinuka is really an exceptional Manager- helpful, kind, friendly, knowledgeable of all local attractions and the villa is maintained exceptionally. We will be back again!
