After being presented with slop for a meal at Guyana hotel and restaurant we went by tuk tuk to the Ibis. The meal was excellent and the welcome we received from the owners and staff very warm.We wished that we had stayed here rather than at the Guyana. It has an excellent location right on the beach and appeared perfect... More

The low point of my trip to Sri Lanka was having to climb in and out of the greasy mosquito nets at Ibis that looked as if they had never been washed and had the god knows what of many a traveller on them. The bed sheets, towels and pillows smelt musty and damp. The rooms were dark and dingy.... More

Dear Guests, I think there was a misunderstanding in the price for the taxi. The Ibis Guesthouse is not cheating their guests. The bedsheets and the towels are washed after every check out of guests – don´t worry! Also the mosquito-nets are washed regularly. More

I went to this place based and good reviews I had in guide books. I had a room for 4500Rps without breakfast. Room was ideal with a great view. Place is ideally located and everything has been made so that you just want to stay there. Staff is nice BUT I had a bad experience. They arranged a driver for... More

It is run by a sri lankan man and his german wife. The best feature of this resort is the surroundings - it is right on the beach but there are palms everywhere so when you look out of your room you feel secluded. The food was delicious - we at at other places on the beach but ended up... More

Under the surface of a lovely decorated beach hotel we unfortunately experienced an unhelpful and aggressive hotel owner. On our first night at 11 pm we thought we had lost our room key. We had to wake up the owner. At first he refused to provide any assistance. When we finally found the key he completely freaked out and his... More

Dear Guests, the brother of the owner, who was still awake, tried to help you: he was ready to break the door look, he wanted to give you matrazes for sleeping on the balcony in front of your room (all other rooms/bungalows were full), he was helping to such the key. Also the wife of the owner was ready to... More

Tangalle is a perfect, basic beach get-away location, and from what I saw, IBIS is the pick of the beach bungalow accommodation there. Whilst all of the beach places have restaurants (and all seemed to be basically OK), the food at the IBIS was the best. The breakfasts were also good. The service is friendly, and generally pretty good. People... More

This is a beautiful hotel and has a very quiet location with nice beach. Room is very clean with the big bed. No hot water but they told us they had. Room is very hot so we had to open the windows in the night. We didn't book in advance so we could only wait to 7pm to check in... More

After three weeks travelling around Sri Lanka we were ready to recharge our batteries. We looked at a few options along the beach road, but we're glad that we chose to pay a little extra and stay at the Ibis which is a cut above the guesthouses we'd seen. It offers a variety of rooms and plenty of options for... More
