It was huge rain day and foggy, we took sometimes to identify the direction to the place due to the heavy rain. A neighbor in the area gave a good information for us to reach there luckily. The signboard of "Skydale" wasn't there as see on the photo, I was a bit doubtful until Nalin came out to open the...

We were so exciting to stay here due to past reviews of Skydale. This place definitely provides a spectacular view but that's it. We paid US $60 p/n with the room description including air-conditioning, and flat-screen TV. However, there was nothing of the sort in our room. Plus, the fan was built up with thick dust which was so disgusting....

We stayed 4 days at Skydale , and loved it. The family went out of their way to service us. Prob. The best breakfast we have had et on the tip. X The hotel has an agreement with a local tuktuk driver that knows Kandy, and how to get back to the homestay. Make sure you have a srilanka phone...

Nalin is the name of the guy that takes care of you during your stay and we have to say that it has been the best host in our whole trip. He is always aware of your neccesities and makes wonderful food; so don't hesitate on ordering food for dinner, because it really is worthy. Sri Lankan typical food made...

Breathtaking view overlooking Mahaveli river and mountains. Clean rooms with balcony. .Also we were delighted for the customer service provided by Nalin with a warm attitude. A definite place to go to relax and have a romantic holiday.

For views this fantastic you have to make a sacrifice somewhere. Sky dale is run by a lovely family, but it is a lot further out of town than expected. It is a twenty minute walk up/down in to Kandy which would be fine for me normally but I did not feel comfortable doing this in the dark with all...

View is amazing, but the rooms are old and tired and not very clean. The carpet is worn, walls are dirty. The bed had only a small blanket that barely covered us. Staff are friendly and willing, but overall it was not worth the money.

We stayed here for one night on our way back from Nuwara Eliya and since everything was booked in Kandy city we booked this online. It is quite out of the city, technically in New Kandy and the Tuk Tuk driver only understood how to get here when we told him of another place next to it (Kandy Panorama hotel...

I don't understand the enthusiasm of the other reviewers. Skydale is at the end of a very bumpy road on top of a steep hill approximately 5 km from the center of Kandy. The views are stunning (river views, not lake views to the center), but they are impaired by the dirtiness of the big windows. Although being new, the...

Stayed at the Skydale for 3 nights with my partner approximately one month ago and loved it all. The view from the room was brilliant, the room itself comfortable and nothing was too much for our excellent hosts. The food was the best we had during our entire 12 night trip of Sri Lanka and is up there with some...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Skydale is the perfect hill country destination during your journey exploring Sri Lanka. Ideally located near the top of a hill, facing away from the Kandy city, it provides you the ultimate view of the valley below. The panoramic view includes famous mountains Hunnasgiriya and Knuckles, and the Mahaveli River, that runs across the valley. We have four rooms, two double, one twin and one triple all with ensuits. All four rooms also have satellite TV, and three rooms have private balconies. We have free WiFi in all rooms. Two double rooms are fitted with air-conditioners, however in most months of the year the weather is pleasantly cool. ... more   less
