We have just spent two nights at Taylor's Hill. We had a wonderful time, the feeling is very homely and comfortable. It caters really well for couples or families. The children loved the tennis, badminton, croquet and a games room. The location is spectacular, nestled in the hills. It is a long treck to get to Taylor's Hill, but I...

Be careful Taylors Hill is not close to Kandy (1h30 drive) and should not be booked as a one night stop over as it is so nice you will like to stay longer! It is like a UK country house, with beautiful rooms, all different. Big garden and a swimming pool, just perfect to relax few days between your touristic...

Our stay felt like visiting friends in a country house. Very comfortable and excellent food . The staff laid on a great New Year's Eve celebration. The grounds are beautifully kept and there are lots of facilities. We enjoyed the visit to the tea plantation and a walk but felt the cost for these were excessive .

We had a lovely stay at Taylors Hill Food was excellent and the staff were very accommodating. We especially enjoyed the tour of Loolecondera with our guide Sajith, the guide and naturalist for the hotel. We appreciated the effort Dawn and her team go to to deliver a luxury experience in a remote area. We were transported visually back almost...

Pros: beautiful building and setting; activities around the hotel such as croquet, pool etc; tea tour; generally good food. Cons: terrible service (told them we're vegetarian but on the second night served meat and on the third told that there was only one vegetarian main so one of us would have to eat meat / manager not very friendly and...

Taylor’s Hill Estate in Kandy might be one of Sri Lanka’s best kept secrets. The written testimonials are true and are well-documented in the large journal that is kept. Page after page notes how grateful people are to enjoy this 5* establishment which have the qualities of a home rather than a hotel. The hospitality of well-trained staff means that...

We stayed here two nights and unfortunately as we were touring around a lot, this was too far out as we were travelling to and from our places to visit about 4-5 hours a day. The building was very English. The staff were fantastic but the manageress didnt seem to hear my answer to her question - did we have...

Spent 2 nights here and it was set in a fantastic area high in the mountains near Kandy. The food was excellent. Afternoon tea just perfect. The staff all couldn't do enough for you and even had time to play snooker along with me. They are desperate to win so don't expect an easy game. One down side was the...

My boyfriend and I stayed at Taylor's Hill for 3 nights in August 2016 and couldn't have loved it more. We highly recommend it to anyone looking to visit the 'hill country'. Taylor's Hill is a lovely colonial style home, now a boutique hotel / guesthouse, idyllically situated amongst tea plantations about an hour's drive from Kandy. It has been...

Admittedly we arrived after a long journey from Nuwara Eliya but this property suffers from being extremely remote - 29km up a really long windey but surprisingly busy road! It is classed as Kandy but it is far too far away for a daily visit. Having got over the journey, the property itself is very attractive externally and has been...

Thank you for reviewing us.It is much appreciated that you have said the property is "attractive",the food is "faultless" and that "we gave your children an extra room at no extra cost" However,in return you have submitted a number of complaints, and from our perspective a disappointing ranking given your other praise, which seems to be based on some serious misconceptions.Hopefully the...
