We stayed in Summit for couple of days and this hotel is in a beautiful location. It’s very modern and our room was spacious and had a lovely balcony, I loved the unobstructed view of the whole Kandy city and entire Hunnas mountain range. The view was just breathtaking. The food was delicious as they had a superb in-house chef who does a great job. The staff was well mannered and the service provided to us was of the utmost quality. Each request is handled promptly and adequately.Over all me and my partner had a fantastic stay at the Summit as the purpose of our visit was to get out of this busy life in the city and relax and Summit went beyond our expectation and served the purpose. We will definitely visit this place again.

Since we only stayed one night, we couldn't used all the services but i am optimistic about overall experience. the view from the room balcony was phenomenal. All the stuff were very helpful and kind. The welcome drink that they serve was exceptional. The room was clean, ac working fine and compare to other places we stayed in Sri Lanka having individual water heater in the shower was a big plus.

But there couple of things we can suggest to The Summit management, there was no walk-in wardrobe in the room. For us this was not a big problem because we only stayed one night but for longer stays it can be very helpful and also there was no hair dryer in the room.

For the ones who are going to stay in this hotel please be prepared, if you want to consume alcohol you can't find because they don't have licence yet but again the stuff is very helpful for this situation.

This is a cosy, charming & friendly place in the hill capital Kandy. Just a short drive from the city centre, it's nested on one side of Hanthana, overlooking the city.

The rooms have lovely interior decoration with simple, but matching colours. I personally like the fact that the wardrobe is not in the same space as the bedroom, but tucked away to a side.

But the most eye catching thing of the place is most certainly the stunning view from the balcony. Be it day or night, it's simply picteresque & breathtaking. The hotel also has a lovely terrace all the way at the top (which is also where the bar is) where you can relax with a drink or snacks.

A special mention to the manager of the establishment Mr. Fuard, who helped us customise our stay as per our wishes & was extremely accommodating from the point we arrived. Not forgetting the friendly staff & the kitchen, which produced some tasty meals throughout our stay.

I recommend you go sooner rather than later, before the place gets popular & starts getting booked. I'm already looking forward to my next visit :)

getting to the hotel is a small chore, but you are rewarded with a decent view. The hotel, isn't really a hotel. So i found it a little hard to find. Because it's a house that's been converted.
The rooms are a decent size, well decorated and offer great views of Kandy. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful.
It feels very chilled when sit out on your own private terrace. I'm not entirely sure that the hotel is worth it's high price though.
hmmm, well given the price of the room. you only get one towel, what's that about!
But the thing that stung and led me to leave a low mark was the food.
You're kind of a captive audience and the hotel know it, given it's location up in the hills.
The hotel offered a set dinner menu for LKR6000 ($20) per person. The usual price of a decent sized dinner is about LKR2000 per person.
So how was dinner you ask.. well, and when I tell you, I'm not joking in the slightest when i tell you what I was served.
so the d'oeuvres - A slice of white bread cut into the shape of a heart, on top of this romantically shaped bread. Three mini Ritz crackers (seriously) with cream cheese on top.
Then a small salad in a cocktail glass which was ok.
followed by Heinz tomato soup.
followed by some oven made, veggie burgers, with some creamy veg, which was clearly from a packet.
I was actually laughing when they were serving me these dishes, making it out to be something really posh.
So please hotel, bear in mind that you would have got a much higher score if you hadn't charged me and the other guests that were staying there $20 for something that was clearly worth $2. Ritz crackers! haha are you seriously joking with that.

Dear Guest thank you for taking time to write a review about us. Glad you liked the view of the city and surrounding from your room. However you were not happy with our food. The choices for vegetarian is limited thus we have included more vegetarian options since this review was made in order to serve our guests with more choices. Thank you once again.

First of all, it is not a hotel. It is a house, with 4 bed rooms and with bare minimum amenities, which is converted to a guest accommodation. Considering the amount charged, it is wastage of money. How they have managed to get very high rating is a surprise. The Owner has appointed few people to look after the property. If you are looking for a backpacker accommodation, this may suit you, but at a much lesser rent. In Booking.com, the property claims it is a 5 star hotel, which is a lie (we got trapped). They could not provide us even with a hair dryer. They cook some food in the kitchen and will give you (price high). You may imagine the variety. The free breakfast is just a Break-fast! If you are looking for comfort, think twice. Do not believe the descriptions.

Dear guest thank you for your review We are sorry we have not been able to meet up to your expectations. However we are a boutique hotel/villa not a 5 star resort. We have won international travel awards based on the standards and quality we offer to our guests. We have limited options for vegetarian dishes how ever we will include more in the future to cater to vegetarian.

I have no understanding of how this hotel has gotten 5 stars on booking.com. I would maximum give it 2 stars. Apart from the semi good view it is a disaster. It says there is a 24/7 reception, that is a complete lie there is no lobby and there is only one guy working there that could speak English, and when he goes to sleep then you can’t get any help anymore. If you are lucky you can have hot water for 5 minutes even though they promise you at least “10 minutes of hot water…
There was a lizard in our first room and we called the “reception” and two guys came up and they couldn’t catch it but they told us it had left the room. Later that night we saw the lizard above our room but the reception guy had gone to sleep, so we couldn’t get any help. The next morning we got another room that because of the lizard but it was a much worse room and we did not get any discounts. In this room we only had hot water for 2 minutes and the air conditioning was dripping so much water that there was a miner sea next to our bed and to top it all of there was hole in the wall where there was an ant home. We haven’t slept properly for our two day stay.

A wonderful place to stay - the view is stunning, at dawn, dusk, in daylight, and even overnight! The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and very clean, and the English breakfast was wonderful, with the best juice I've had in Sri Lanka, I think. Well worth the slightly scary drive up the mountain :)
My only suggestion for improvement would be to have a couple of comfortable chairs inside the room, to sit and relax and enjoy that view; there is more than enough room for them as the room is HUGE! And only about 15 minutes from the station, so very handy for the Kandy-Ella train.

Thank you for your review. Point taken on having extra chair. The reason why we don't have chairs in the room is to admire the view from the bed. But sit on the balcony and watch the city. Look forward to seeing you again.
