40 roomed hotel in Kandy could be reach easily if you take the route leading to Mahamaya College. Tim Tim from town will cost $1.5 per way, Parking is a problem only 3-4 cars on front, small reception area with lobby seating for 4, one staircase down some more lobby seating, 700 series rooms no lift, some 800 rooms have...

Arrived late and left early but had time to try both dinner and breakfast which were both very tasty. It was nice to have a decent buffet with decent local and western food. The room was small but at least had a cot.

The hotel is a bit out of town but that is not a problem as a tuk tuk costs 250 rupees (£1.30) to the centre. The room was clean but the shower leaked creating a pool around the toilet. Tv did not work either. The family room was a good size and came with a large balcony. We ate dinner...

Stayed here last minute and we were very disappointed. Our room was charged at.$165. For this we got a small room, very noisy as directly below dining room. Water out of tap was brown and bathroom smelt like sewage. The fan was falling out of ceiling and we were also.missing a ceiling light so had live wires dangling out. When...

We found serene since nothing else was available at the last minute. It is however a nice hotel at the top of a hill. The rooms are small but cosy & clean. We had our christmas dinner here and it was nice. You cant go walking to the lake and need a car to go anywhere, otherwise its a nice...

Stayed here for the cricket - Hotel was very pleaseant and quiet. A good price for what you got. Breakfast was satisfying and the staff were friendly. The hotel organised transport to Pallekele stadium at what was a good price though it involved a little negotiation. Easy to get a tut tut into town to the shops restaurants and pubs.

Busy hotel with many guests staying for short period as part of touring Sri Lanka. Reception is on the top floor and the restaurant and lounge are beneath. Rooms at lower levels. Air conditioning worked well in room and the bed was comfortable. However, soft furnishings were stained an unappealing. The television only had 3 local channels. In the bathroom,...

me and my family stayed two nights in a triple room, the room size was just ok, clean room and toilets, to get to the rooms you have to go through too many stairs and corridors like a maze. but the room balcony had a breath taking view of the green hills and the valley, no wifi in the room...

We stayed for 2 nights here. The family room was enormous, but tiny bathroom and basic, for example, no functioning plug or hooks on the backs of doors. No satellite TV (and none of the family rooms appear to be connected to the satellite so this appeared not to be possible). No wifi in rooms and we were promised a...

We got a room 701, it has an amazing view, room is big and clean. My young son was looking forward for seeing the monkeys there but we weren't so lucky. The pool wasnt much clean, although they clean it more than once a day, it gets attacked by insects and falling leaves right after they finish cleaning it. Its...

Serene Garden Hotel is situated within walking distance of the city centre and overlooking the serene Kandy Lake. Above all these things, something unique about Serene Garden Hotel: its ambience is serene and the experience blends with the unique enchantment that Kandy serenely weaves in the mind of the foreign traveller, as it has done for centuries.
