This was our most luxury stay during the time in Sri Lanka and we enjoyed it very much. The front desk was always helpful and we got really warmely accepted after the arrival. The service and the food provided (we had half board) matched the price, aka it was wonderful. Amazing was the morning, when there were monkeys everywhere, including...

You enter the reception and the rooms are down in the lower 5 floors, as it is down a cliff. Small sized pool at the bottom which has no privacy though, as all rooms overlook above it right from the top. Parking is a BIG problem. Rooms are clean and small , housekeeping is on its toes & helpful. Don't...

A super place to be. You could walk to the Kandy Temple from this place. Friendly staff. Plenty of quiet areas in the property if you want to do some reading or getting your facebook hit. I will go again.

I like this hotel a lot, just visited for the third time so that sums up my views. This time I noticed a few signs of wear and tear but would say it is far from jaded. The rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff are friendly and helpful, in common with most Sri Lankans and the buffet...

A fairly basic 3 star lodging - rooms are reasonable size and beds not too bad. An extra towel would have been very much appreciated - 1 for both hand and bath not really sufficient. Breakfast was good with a great choice and the waiters both at breakfast and dinner were very attentive and well drilled in their art.

This hotel seems to be the hotel of choice for tour groups. It is fantastic too. A free dinner and breakfast was included and, given the tightness of our schedule, we took advantage of both which were excellent. It's a great location within walking distance of the city and an excellent base to retire to at the end of a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Serene Garden Hotel is situated within walking distance of the city centre and overlooking the serene Kandy Lake. Above all these things, something unique about Serene Garden Hotel: its ambience is serene and the experience blends with the unique enchantment that Kandy serenely weaves in the mind of the foreign traveller, as it has done for centuries. From Serene Garden Hotel, it is walking distance to the Dalada Maligawa (The Temple of the Tooth) across the road from the Kandy Lake.
