Easy check in with email contact beforehand. Stayed on top floor - not a problem for us but quite steep . Room was clean and fine although bathroom was on small side . The owner was called Janine and she was charming and helpful - had fabulous breakfast every morning cooked to order and very plentiful -,didn’t need any food til evening time . Location was very convenient as beach was within minutes away and shops only about 10 min . Some lovely restaurants around the corner as well- all in all a lovely stay - thank you Janine

‘Amazing hosts, comfortable rooms. Fireflies dancing in the gardens at night. Local to everything.’ ➖ There was nothing we did not like. ➕ This is one of the most welcoming hosts that we have ever encountered on our travels. We were met with fresh juice made from the fruit trees in the garden. We were introduced to everyone, including the other guests who happened to be there. We were given a basic run down of the local amenities while our luggage was taken to our rooms. We were told that if we needed anything to just ask. I was specifically looking for fabric and spices, so on 3 occasions I was taken in their car to find what I was looking for. The warm nature of the family has been instilled in their son Bodhi who is a very friendly young man who makes it his mission to find out if you need anything, and to advise you on local amenities. He really likes to make sure you are happy with your holiday. The family all speak perfect English. Bodhi took us to the local Tsunami museum which could not have been easy for him as he was one of the survivors. He also took us to Galle for the afternoon. I had to go to the local hospital for an eye issue so a trip to the local eye hospital was made where he made sure I was attended to. After that we went sight seeing and then back to attend the appointment. That evening Bodhi then took us to an amazing restaurant for dinner. We had so much food that we took the remainder home and our hosts heated it up the following evening. It was the lady’s (ma) birthday while we were there and every guest and local friends attended a traditional Sri Lankan dinner that she had cooked. Our breakfast (extra) was great, we had a fruit starter, tea, eggs, toast and home made jam every day. This was equivalent to roughly £2.50 pp, remarkable value. This family are well known and respected in the area, I understand why. Their kindness shines from the inside to the outside. Nothing is a problem for them, you can even have your laundry done. Every other guest apart from us were repeaters, some coming for over 30 years. People who were there during our stay were there for a couple of months. On our final day, another Meal was served to us at no cost by way of thanking us. A late checkout of our rooms was also arranged at no cost! Will we return? Of course, we can’t wait until we join their exclusive ‘repeater club’! Stuart, Caroline and Karen.

Great welcome from the owners of this gem of a guesthouse. For the whole of our stay they just couldn’t do enough for us . They offered to take us to swim with turtles, the tsunami museum, the Japanese temple, shopping, and to feed the turtles. Bodhi the son was lovely, nothing was too much trouble , he took great pride in offering to help with anything he could. The whole family were amazing. Rooms we clean and tidy, very comfortable. The rooms are set in beautiful gardens, wildlife and flowers were just awesome. Beach was 3 mins walk , as were all other amenities. We were so impressed we have booked to return again next year. Most guests we spoke to all return year after year, some for the past 30 years. There was nothing about this place that we didn’t like. We loved it all !
