Rupa Wasi is the ideal place to stay after completing the gruelling 4 day 45 kilometre Inca Trek. The accommodation is well appointed, bed very comfortable, staff friendly and helpfull and the restaurant sensational. It is not cheap but then Peru is not as cheap as you might think anyway. It is great value and I would highly recommend it....

I had made a reservation for three travellers and had to pay the 50% deposit via Western Union in cash and pay the Western Union fee. They should have at least paypal as it is available in Peru and I was able to pay another for a Lima hotel deposit the same way. We had reserved a suite with an...

We stayed here for one night and took the first bus to machu picchu. We booked room nr. 2 and got an upgrade for room nr. 4. This room was lovely with hot showers. breakfast was yummy and the staff very friendly. We can NOT complain. but Aguas calientes really is not a place to be longer than necessary, but...

Almost decided to spring for the Sanctuary Lodge, but glad we went here. We stayed in room 5, which has a great view of Aguas Calientes and the surrounding valley and mountains. Just a beautiful setting. The room was fine, the bed was comfy, things were clean. I was a little worried about the shower after reading some reviews before...

I stayed with a friend the night before climbing Huayna Picchu and visit MachuPicchu, a nice guy came to pick us up from the station and advised to buy the bus tickets on the way, which was really good coz it saved us a lot of time, it's a bit long way up to get there, but it's worth with...

4 of us stayed in 2 rooms on Nov. 23rd 2011. The most difficlut part of the hotel is getting there, because of the number of stairs you have to climb, but it's really not bad at all, it's easy for anyone fit enough to go to Machu Picchu. This was a great hotel overall, even though there was construction...

Cozy rooms with character. Nice terrace or balcony. Upstairs room might be less noisy and even better view. Staff very helpful. Loved the Treehouse restaurant. We used the Lodge for arranging our Machu Picchu trip and were pleased with all. Rooms are rustic and a bit musty but the bit of seclusion makes it worth it.

Dear fellow traveler, just to let you know that we traveled Peru for three weeks and we had a great time in that country, apart from the 24 hrs in AC. We are frequent travelers and both hold a bachelors degree in hospitality management, thus, I would think, we know what we are talking about. Generally, if you can avoid...

The hotel is an "Eco lodge", but in their effort to be green it loses some of the basic things we want in a hotel, such as fluffy pillows, and quiet rooms. The lodge is all wood, so you can hear EVERY STEP your neighbor takes...and some of them want to take the 5am bus, so you start hearing steps...

Let me start by saying that I loved our stay at Rupa Wasi! I have to be honest though. I am not a huge fan of Aguas Calientes - it is very touristy (which is to be expected), but also very very expensive. With that said, I would rather stay in Aguas than train in from Cusco for the day....
