We debated between a stay at the Inkaterra or The Sanctuary and felt that we made the right choice. Since we stayed 3 nights, there was plenty of time to experience Machu Picchu. The bus ride to and from the ruins was easy and we were happy to get away from the crowds at the end of the day. Nestled... More

Situated down in the village, below Machu Picchu, close to the station, at the foot of a deep Andean valley. Just 2 minutes walk into the village, that being a hub for students and backpackers. The emphasis is on "eco", rather than comfort or luxury. It boasts extensive grounds, in a "cloud jungle" built into the hillside. The food is... More

Quiet, tranquil and soothing to the senses. The minute you cross the bridge you know you are somewhere special. Privacy is an issue in some rooms but still loved it. Food excellant at both restaurants.

We were lucky to stay one night on our tour. It was a wonderful surprise and the staff, especially the area that arranged tours, was beyond amazing. At the last minute they helped us arrange a shaman wedding blessing. We would love to have stayed longer. Thank you!

While the others went up to Machu Picchu, I came straight to the hotel after being up all night sick. The staff fed me hot tea, got me into a room early, and took care of this aching person. I can't thank them enough for the care they took of me. By later that day, I was able to appreciate... More

With a majority of guests accessing Machu Picchu, the last thing people may want is to immediately jump back into "civilization". Fortunately, this property with its sanctuary, gardens, and fern walks, allows you to slowly assimilate back into normalcy. Located at the end of town near the train station, the grounds are much larger than expected affording a nice walk... More

Pretty property with nice rooms. However, many have large picture windows that directly display onto sidewalks that guests use to traverse the property. Must close curtains for any privacy which then shuts out nature and surroundings which is WHY TRAVELERS CHOOSE THIS DESTINATION. Odd smell of fuel in the morning - could not figure out why or what for. Also... More

Stayed here for one night after reading the reviews from other travellers. This is a lovely hotel located away from the crowds but only a 5 minute walk away from the station and main market/street. This is not your traditional 5 star hotel and if you are looking for luxury this is probably not for you. If you are looking... More

We only stayed for one night but I wish it could have been longer! What a beautiful spot! The rooms were gorgeous - like little cottages. Plus there was lots of wildlife around, which was lovely. We tried out the restaurant for breakfast and dinner, and both were great. A lovely place to rest your weary bones after a long... More
