We had a great stay at Hacienda Merida. It's a very chill atmosphere and the dorms are nice. A fan per bed which was appreciated. The food from the restaurant is good. The Hacienda is located in a convenient spot, easy day trips to Oja de Agua, San Ramon Waterfall and Maderas. One of the best views of the sunset...

Quaint little hotel. Environmentally conscious. Great food in an open-air restaurant. Awesome views. Kayaking. Volcano hikes. Horseback tours...all providing education for the children in the community. This is a sustainability project with a heart and vision for the future of the ecosystem and of the people living in the local area. Be sure to visit the adjoining school, talk to...

We stayed over Easter so the school was closed. Had a peaceful relaxing time. Enjoyed kayaks, swimming, walking and relaxing. Food was delicious and generous portions and whilst not cheap by Nicaragua standards was a fraction of what we would pay at home and far, far tastier! The guy in charge was exceptionally helpful and recommend places to stay near...

I traveled to Ometepe for Semana Santa hoping to get away from the noise and Hacienda Merida provided just that. I loved being by the water, access to kayaks and hammocks and fresh food. The sunsets are unbeatable and the place is pretty clean. One night there was no power and the food is a bit spendy for Nicaragua but...

I have read a lot of reviews and am struggling to understand the problem. There is nothing wrong with this place - rooms are clean and nice, food was great and the owner was so so lovely and helpful. If you don't like cold water, find yourself a 5 star resort as this is the norm in Central America. Thanks...

The best hamburgers in Nicaragua, ask for the curry sauce and malanga chips, very relaxing place and excellent service! Highly recommend for lunch, they also have an awesome school to help kids from the community. Not sure about the hotel since we didn't stay here.

The rooms with balconies overlooking the lake are exceptional, with great sunsets to watch, or sit on the dock as local fisherman test there skills. Kayaking to the estuary is easy from this location with very reasonable rental rates. The onsite restaurant provides fantastic food anytime of the day, and the beer is nicely chilled. All of this is for...

Others have covered the good and not so good at Hacienda Merida but for me the pier and lakefront view more than make up for the cold showers. Jump in the lake on a hot afternoon. Take a kayak to monkey island in the evening. Watch the sunset over the lake. Check out Volcan Concepcion in the morning

I think it has the best location in Merida but the place is a bit rundown, menu is not the best and regarding rooms I do think you will find better value other places in Merida. We had the top rooms not facing the water, and there was very little water in the shower, as such I used the public...
