It is well located near the road with parking inside. It has good room conditions. The people there are very polite. The food is good. The pool is really cool and the view in the terrace is sensational.
Great hotel, with a stunning pool and gardens. Superior kitchen, they are happy to adapt for children. The Erg Chegaha worth the visit and this is an ideal starting point. Personal attention in whatever you need, many thanks Mohammed!
I had the chance to stay one night at Tabarkat Hotel in M'hamid and the esperience was marvelous . First of all when I arrived the Staff welcomed me with smiles and a cup of tea. Than the swimming pool was ready for a relaxing hour with the Sun set in front of me. The rooms were situated in a tipical desert garden in a cottage strutture. Rooms were spacious (with a sltting room separated from the sleeping room) and a very nice bathroom decorated with green Zagora tails. They prepare an excellent dinner near the swimming pool . The next day breakfast was deliciuos and fresh. I suggest to stay 2 nights at Tabarkat because people can enjoy the beauty of the Hotel and cold organize a 5 hours (with luch) excursion to the dunes only 40 minutes from hotel. Special thanks to the unforgatable staff: Rashid,Saida,Nezha and Mohammed and to the owners Josep and Elisabetta.…
Our stay in this hotel was perfect. Well, almost.....the pool was freezing (what do we expect in december) but we sturdy Brits took the plunge in any case! The garden rooms were palatial and very comfy, more like a suite with a huge sitting area and separate bedroom. The rooms were immaculate and the grounds were pristine, being constantly tended by conscientious staff. Each staff member we met went out of their way to be helpful and friendly and couldn't have done more to make us feel very welcome. Other reviewers thought the Catalan owners were aloof, but I think they just don't speak English; we tried our best spanish and they told us all about their experience of the dakar rally and the visit of the queen of Spain! As we were they only guests on one night, of course it was quiet and the restaurant lacks a bit of atmosphere, but we were there for the peace so, again, no problem. With just one exception, the food was great. I would definitely stay here again and enjoy the excellent service and facilities. I can't comment on the value for money as we stayed as part of a package. As for dune proximity - the biggest dunes are 2-hrs away but there is a Berber camp just outside M'hamed some 10km away that has plenty of sand to keep the walker and photographer happy. Mid sized dunes perfect for a sunrise/sunset trip.…
We felt really like if we were in heaven when reaching Tabarkat hotel in Mhamid. After a few days of dune driving in the Sahara desert this is the feeling you get! Rooms are very very spacious and one issue I believe they should review is the lack of power of the air conditioners in extreme hot climate. Maybe the rooms are too big for such a small apparell! The food is delicious with a reference Mechoui (lamb roasted in wood fire hoven traditional way) all around the country you won't find any better I can assure you all. Next time I'll be back I will stay there for sure. And the owner spanish couple are always there to assit your needs. Congratulations for keeping up this little piece of paradise in such a remote environment.
Me and my wife stay on this hotel after 3 days on the pistes, and for us it was like a litle heaven on earth! The rooms where clean and big, the food was excellent, a little more of european flavour than other hotels, which we liked. We where the only ones staying that night, so we had the hotel for ourselfs, the view from the rooftop of the main building is very nice. But what set the difference to other places we have been was the staff, all without exception where very friendly and helpfull, the owners are a spanish couple , very down to earth people, they made us feel really welcomed.
Looks great as you arrive and rooms are OK, overall. However, ambience and service was miserable, and food not good but very overpriced, as was the accommodation for its overall standard by Moroccan standards.
The hotel Tabarkat is a real nice place to stay during your visit in M'Hamid. The towerrooms are good value. The owners could do soms more effort to make the bathroom more confortable. The shower had à curtain which was a little dirty and the water is not too hot. (altough you don't want to have a hot shower when It's more then 40 degrees outside) The spanish owners didn't really care about us, but the personnel was great. Habib is very helpfull and friendly and speaks good english (The owners don't) and the other guys at the restaurant are doing a great job! Too bad there is no real bar. I would come back here!
I spent two nights here in early August, when the weather was fiercely hot in M'hamid. Initially I was in a separate and quite large cottage, but the air conditioner was simply unable to cool it down, so I was moved into the main building, which was excellent. Room was of a good size, well-furnshed, cool and very comfortable. Food was not great, but, wh comes to M'hamid for the food? The highlight of my stay was a day trip out to Erg Chigaga, which the hotel staff arranged. If you visit M'hamid do go to Chigaga!
