We enjoyed our stay here. Staff were generally nice and tried hard to understand and help. It seems room sizes here are pretty mixed but Our room (number 7) was really comfortable and generous in size with a seating area and lots of space to accomodate two large bags. Bathroom was great but hot water was a bit hit and...

We stayed 2 nights at this Riad. The exterior is lovely. My room was extremely small and the shower very tiny and splashed all over the small bathroom. The first day I had to ask for ask for a remote control for the air conditioning. It worked well. The next day when I came back to my room the remote control...

The Da Mounir is a thoroughly charming hotel inside the old town area of Chefchaouen. We had an enjoyable 1 night stay, but the small room and the steps would not have allowed us to enjoy staying any longer. The hotel is a classic Chefchaouen building from its blue colour scheme and traditional architecture right through to the decor and...

I stayed here for 3 nights during Summer when many of Chefchaouens better options were already taken. I would love to give this family run hotel a better rating but I was quite disappointed that despite the friendly manner of the staff they were not at all helpful when approached with questions or problems. I made my booking through booking.com...

The hotel is attractive, with new decor, and our room comfortable. Breakfast and dinner for our group were brought from the owners' nearby restaurant and served in downstairs meeting room. That was convenient and the food quite good. The water pressure for the shower was often low, and at night there was unpleasant odor in the bathroom when the window...

Hotel Dar Mounir was a welcome relief after a long and hot drive from Marrakech. I was greeting by a lovely woman on reception, who continues to be lovely. My room (Room 10) is the perfect size for one person. It is clean and well appointed. One of the most comfortable beds I've slept in, in Morocco. Love the Moroccan...

This is the type of place you go to experience something a bit different -- the decor is fabulous, every detail taken care of -- doors, windows, flowers, sinks, baseboard, ceilings everything -- beautiful. You feel as if you are in a Moroccan paradise. It isn't a place where you go if you want tremendous water pressure and perfect plumbing....

The owner of Dar Mounir was so friendly, helpful, and understanding! He even arranged a private ride for us back to Tanger. And he makes a great omelette! He was working to open a little restaurant in the square and we were sorry not to be around to try it out too. The dar is true Moroccan style and our...

Great location in the middle of the medina of Chefchaouen. The owner made sure we had a nice trip and do the activities that we were expecting to do in this town. We had great time and we find the little room very pretty.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Blue Pearl Chefchaouen: the blue pearl of the Moroccan Rif. At 600 meters altitude, the city is located at the foot of the high mounts Kelaa and Meggou which protect it. Now renowned for its blue-painted whitewashed houses, Chefchaouen is an unusual place where tourists from all over the world come to enjoy an exceptional quality of life where calm, serenity and spirituality reign. It is a city out of time, where the rhythm of the days is organized around the majestic calls to prayer, which resonate in the mountains Our Hotel The heart of the old medina is the main square of Outa El Hammam. 50 meters from this square where hotel Dar Mounir is located whose entry is remarkable for its large blue door Arab-Andalusian style. Our hotel is located in the former home of a famous Judge Chaouni and is today a family institution, since we are three brothers to manage it. It is in 2007 that the establishment opens its doors after difficult work, due in particular to the geographical situation of Chefchaouen which makes it painful the routing of materials and furnishings into the medina.. The hotel is organized, like many Moroccan houses, around a central well of light. The public areas consist of two lounges, one large, where you will like to relax by the fireplace in the winter and a smaller one near the entrance. The terrace offers panoramic views of the medina and the mountains, and is sunny all day. If the need for shade is felt, you can also bask on the banquettes in the shelter of our khaima (traditional Moroccan tent) where our clients love to have their breakfasts. ... more   less
