Well, don't be surprised if the owner is surprised when you arrive at her Dar Manara! We booked via trip advisor in the morning of our stay - pretty normal when you're travelling I think?? As always parking is an issue in morocco - so we called on arrival to find out the 'official parking' place in Assilah. ( for...

The hotel is small (only 4 or 5 guestrooms) and the rooms are not large, but it is well situated inside the medina and wonderfully decorated. The rooms are relatively small, but well appointed and decorated with a full bathroom. The mattress in our room was not very comfortable. There is a cozy rooftop space although there is not much...

This was to be a two day/two night stay. I paid some hustler MAD 20 to walk me and my small suitcase to the riad. Reception was hardly 'a pointe' , but they were very keen to assist me and make sure that I was settled in happily. The room was, disappointingly, quite small: very small in fact. But them...

Beautiful riad in the medina. Great fireplaces and lounge area for reading and tea on a cold day, and a wonderful rooftop patio when it's warm and sunny. Very tasty breakfast. Hot showers, comfortable beds. Would definitely go back.

Everything possible was done to make it comfortabel for us. And specialy the breakfast was excelent, because there were home made jams served and al kinds of breads and fruits as strawberrys. The hotel is laying in a very beautifull medina, nearby the sea, so our visit was complete, we liked it very much.

After having spent a week in this stunning riad (large typical Morrocan style house) I have nothing but positive things to say about it. The rooms are clean, quiet, comfortable, beautifully-decorated and well-maintained. The breakfast was abundant and included fresh and local products. The Riad itself is centrally located in the medina of Asilah so it's easy to get anywhere...

This is a place with comfy beds and good facilities. The rooms are small but functional. The hotel's also is virtually brand new. Rooms/deals start at a reasonable price, can go up fairly steeply from there in peak periods. The proprietor of this place Anna was a very nice person, she made me a lemon and water drink for my own...

Four ladies, we each had a separate room and had the place practically to ourselves. It was a great pity that Ana (who I know from previous visits) was away solving a family problem. We missed her, but Said could not have been more helpful. He made vast supplies of peanut bread on the second morning, having discovered how much...

The owner Anna was lovely she made me a lemon and water drink for my sick stomach. The accommodations very clean & comfortable & very tastefully decorated. The Dar Manara is a wonderful hotel within the medina (old cisty) of Asiliah. The staff is very courteous and friendly. The day hotelier is an energetic Catalan ex-pat who quickly pulls out the area map to show you where to go. When I was there the hotel was only partially booked so it felt like we had this traditional...
