The hotel has an old old world charm but is poorly maintained and lit. Toilet in the room has stains beyond repair and rectification and needs replacement. In general, the property looks like it needs a renovation.

After intensive diving on Mabul and 3-day stay in the jungle we were a little tired and before another diving week we decided to recharge our batteries in some nice place so we booked 3 days in Sabah Hotel in Sandakan and the decision couldn't have been better. It is located in a partly historical building on a hill surrounded...

We landed late afternoon from KL to sandakan and drove straight to Sabah hotel. It was the Governer' office converted to wonderful hotel with old world charm. Big lobby tastefully done overlooking pool and lots of greenery. Big and spacious rooms. Enjoyed our stay. Well for vegetarians food in Sabah region is bit of challenged. But we managed. Our large...

This is a well maintained albeit a bit worn down hotel. Good as a base from which to travel to the Sepilok Orangutan sanctuary and the English tea house. The pool is clean and looks like a family club pool. The food is average both in terms of price and quality. Staff are very friendly.

Good view, very quiet, decent food and friendly staff. Highly recommended for business travellers who want a quiet place to rest at the end of the day. TV could have more selections but you can't have everything I suppose.

Went to this hotel for a trip, it has good view from room window, good breakfast, vast swimming pool, plenty parking space, and spacious room. The only bad thing is the one that should be the highlight of a hotel: the bed. Its hard as a rock. The hardest bed i've ever slept in a hotel.

If you are a health conscious consumer, you may not choose the Friday Night Sizzling Buffet Dinner. Why I said "Not health conscious" or "Not well trained" ? Firstly, FRYING PAN for stir fried spaghetti. They are using a non-stick wok (the cheapest non-stick wok with no brand), all the non-stick surface have been peeled off. And still, of course...

You are limited for hotel choice in Sandakan, this was for a business trip and an acceptable place to be based from. Service a little slow on checkout (due to restaurant discount not being applied). Breakfast was good. Chinese Restaurant was excellent. Main restaurant for evening meals - fair quality. Room was spacious - a little dated in decor, bathroom...

Our tour organiser, Borneo Eco Tours, took us and some other guests to this hotel for lunch. The service was polite, the food was tasty, albeit not a massive choice of dishes. I wouldn't have a problem eating there again if I was in the area.
