Nice, clean accommodation at Harbourside. Really great location and they'll help you book tours, buses etc. TV room is great to chill out in and meet whatever people you can there (Wasn't so busy when I was there)

Perfectly located. Clean. The owner is so so nice, he will help you with everything. Wifi in the lobby and in the rooms. Big living room with TV, Books and thousands of DVDs to see. Breakfast simple but nice, my best coffee in Malaysia so far! Nice!

We stayed in room 4 (with private bath). Turns out it also has a private animal running around in the ceiling space, which at 3am was interesting, as it seemed to get louder and heavier as the night progressed. It didn't come through the ceiling though, so all was well. Room is comfortable, (one double bed, one single), good space,...

We were taken here by a cab driver who misheard "backpacker area" with "Backpacker Hotel" and we were lucky. Clean quiet and nice commun areas. Coffee in the morning with toasts, extremely helpful staff as the owner spent an hour helping us make all our hotel and dive booking for Sipadan. I would return here anytime on my way to...

Stayed here 3 nights, it was a nice, clean facility with decent amenities. Only thing to be improved upon is the wifi is incredibly slow and the pillows are basically rocks. Air con can be used all day, and the TV room/common area was a nice place to meet people. Otherwise no complaints.

I stayed here in March with a friend and it was in a great location and was clean. There was a good communal area with a TV and lots of films for if the weather isn't great. It's a small town so it's close to everything, but takes about an hour to travel out to Sepilok where the orangutans are....

Stayed here for two days, left for a river cruise, then came back for another night. The hostel is quite clean and welcoming, and all of the facilities work. They have lockers as well, but only on the first floor (unless I somehow missed the ones on the second?), and there aren't enough lockers for all of the guests. The...

Although it is quite cheap and James was helpful the other staff were quite confused and non responsive both times we checked in and we also got downgraded as they booked up the rooms despite booking over 2 weeks in advance. We stayed in a double room which was a bit jail cell like although it was clean. The lounge...

We've stayed in two ensuite rooms for two nights. The property was spotlessly clean, the beds comfortable and the staff very nice and helpful. The double and the single rooms had the same size, but the single room was cheaper - that's very good for a single traveler!

I don't usually stay in hostels but as this one had en suite rooms and nowhere else in Sandakan grabbed me I thought I would give it a try. It is spotlessly clean and run by a very friendly knowledgeable team. They answered all my emails promptly during the booking process and arranged the river tour for a very good...
