We stayed here 2 nights before and after going on Uncle Tans wildlife camp. We just used it as a base but really enjoyed our stay- lovely staff, amazing price and good food. If you want to explore Sandakan it is not ideal as taxis are expensive but for us it was in an ideal location, being near the Orangutan...

The Lonely Planet does a half baked job explaining the differences in accommodation near the Orangutan centre in Sepilok. Uncle Tan is a very friendly, helpful local guy. The space is extremely basic. You are thrust into the jungle, living in a wooden shack with clean and basic features. If you are not a fan of creepy crawlies then this...

Nice place to stay if you are planning to go to the orangutan sanctuary. Cheap place and breakfast/lunch/dinner are included in the price. Water/coffee/tea as well. This place don't have any ATM so bring money with you otherwise you need to take a cab to go search money( if you need you should pay between 25 to 30 ringgit). Share...

The accommodation here is fairly basic but its pretty good for the money you pay considering all meals are included. And the food is good. I stayed one night before the wildlife adventure in a double room with aircon and private bathroom. Basic but clean, which is all you need. The property as a whole could do with a spruce...

We stayed in a double room with shared bathroom for one night before our safari tour. Decent clean rooms with strong aircon. Actually better than we expected for the price you pay - serious value for money! The spread of food for breakfast lunch and dinner was delicious!!!

The room was basic but good may be a little worn out. The food was included in the reasonable price and good. The orangutan center and especially the underrated Rainforest discovery center (you can easily spend there 4 hours plus) are close by (walkable distance and Uncle Tan B&B provides morning transfer to the Orangutan center and back at no...

Staff here are lovely really friendly and very knowledgable!!! Jungle camp...

Based on TripAdvisor reviews, I had very low expectations for Uncle Tan B&B. Like most travellers, I was staying here one night prior to my stay at Uncle Tan Base Camp (Note: This review is for the B&B, NOT the jungle trek). The staff at reception was very helpful right from the start (including the very friendly little boy who...

We stayed in a private room with shared bathroom and were surprised to find air conditioning in our room! This made the stay very pleasant, as well as the great bedding. There are lots of bugs but understandable - you're on the edge of a rainforest. All meals are included and this was some of the best food we ate...
