We stayed for a night at the Cedrus at the end of October. It is my favorite hotel in the area. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and tastefully decorated. We stayed in the executive suite (one king and bunk beds with a sitting area). The restaurant has good service and food at very reasonable prices considering the current situation. We ate both dinner and breakfast in the main dining room and enjoyed both meals. It is very close to the Cedars of the Gods park (a short walk or an even shorter drive). It is also very close to the ski slopes.
We visited Le Cedrus during summer for the purpose of hiking in the cedars forest with our kids. The hotel is very close to the forest, the staff is friendly and very helpful, the rooms are clean and spacious, and the restaurant provides excellent food. I would highly recommend it.
Cosy and luxurious, Le Cedrus is the perfect embodiment of a Boutique Hotel. The staff is very hospitable and the rooms spacious and well appointed. We had excellent french dishes at Le Pichet who also offers a diverse and well assorted wine list. A refaire !
I visited Le Cedrus with friends for Christmas. We arrived in the evening on Christmas Eve after 4 hours in traffic from Beirut. We were all super tired and ready to celebrate the holiday. The air was so crisp and clean compared with Beirut, which was a wonderful greeting after all the traffic. The hotel was super quiet and we went to the cigar bar for drinks. They started a fire for us and we relaxed with our drinks. We then moved into the restaurant for raclette and got a plate of meat to cook as well. The raclette was lovely, as was the meat - super tender. I will say that the charcuterie plate quality wasn't the best (not so flavorful), but with the raclette and the meat, we had more than enough food. We had a bottle of red wine from the region (the house wine, if I remember correctly) with dinner, which was really good. Lebanese wine is amazing. There are many vineyards in the North and Bekaa valley which are really fabulous. After dinner, we went back into the cigar bar for drinks. One of my friends wanted a drink that her family makes at Christmas, but the staff didn't know it. So, they let her and another friend behind the bar to make the drink with the ingredients they had there. She was so excited to have her family drink on Christmas, she took photos to send them at home. The next morning, I went down to breakfast before my friends. Somehow, I was really in the mood for labneh and zaatar. I put some on my plate and the server saw I had eaten it quickly and promptly asked me if I wanted more. It was a self-service buffet, but since it was quiet, the staff were ready to help in any way. He brought me more and was sure to double check about drinks, etc... We just had to walk down the road a few minutes to the cedar forest area. There was still some snow on the ground and it was a bit ice-y but lovely. The only issue with the forest is that it was so small. if you want to see cedars, definitely head to Chouf. However, it was lovely that it was so close. We did a little hike around the area on Christmas day, which was perfect. Also, check out was at 12 pm, but they were so relaxed about it. They let us leave our things in the room until we checked out around 4:30 pm, when we, sadly, had to head back to Beirut! The only issue with the whole experience really was the heat in the room. We woke up in the middle of the night because it was so hot. I am usually freezing, so I was really surprised I was even warm. So, just be careful to ask/adjust the heat output from the radiators before bed! Once I turned one heater off and opened the window it was fine. Also, was glad to be warm in the chilly mountains! The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The service, food, and drinks were great. So glad we went up there. Hoping to get back to the hotel and bring more friends next time!…
This has to be one of the best places in Al Arz mountains hotels. All staff generous and courteous. Place is perfect for reaching the top of the mountain. Rooms are clean, warm. Kids loved playing in the snow just in front.
