Travellers' Choice
The camp is small, intimate and very safe. It is in the south of the reserve, away from other tourists and far from traffic and worry. You will experience the serenity only found in the heart of the desert, and enjoy the dazzling night sky un-polluted by city lights. The bedrooms are Bedouin tents, both very attractive and comfortable, which open directly onto the desert expanse. The rest rooms are modern and clean, with flush toilets and showers with hot and cold running water. The dining area is a traditional semi-enclosed Bedouin tent with lounge, where you can recline to chat and drink endless cups of tasty local tea around the fire while gazing up at the stars. The meals are delicious and freshly prepared on site. You may even be treated to the melt-in-your mouth delight of zarb, a banquet of meat and vegetables slow-cooked the traditional way in an underground oven. The staff are polite and helpful, and available at all times to ensure your stay is perfect.

The owner's son was our guide and driver. At some spots he took us, there was more explanation, but at others, he pointed out the rough direction to go and left us to hike ourselves. His English was not very strong, but he truly tried. He made a nice lunch in a secluded canyon and then took us to camp. There, Farris met us, showed us around, and offered tea and cold water several times, while we spent the afternoon reading and staying out of the sun in the "relaxing/lounging" tent. Dinner was delicious - chicken, lamb, potatoes, carrots and zucchini all cooked underground, and served with the usual mezze. You could purchase beer, if desired. The tent had a double bed and a twin, as well as a table, and ladder with shelves to put your things. With the two windows open, it finally cooled off in the early morning, but we spent a restless night due to the warmth. They have a restroom building with showers and flush toilets for the guests to share. We're glad we stayed overnight, but for only one night. It was an interesting and unique experience.

I was collected from an nearby highway by Marwan - the owner Salem’s son. The camp is lovely and remote with the surrounding jebel/large rocks giving an amazing energy. I was very well looked after the entire time the beds were lovely and the food cooked by Kenyan camp Manager Alex was very nice. Overall a great stay and I would thoroughly reccomend the camp for a stay.

Unfortunately, we couldn't stay for a night but we booked by Mohammad Mutlak our one day private tour to see Wadi Rum and we really enjoyed it! Incredible views, delivious meal in the middle of the desert and very nice atmosphere with our best tour guide ever!!! The guide was doing his best to take care of us, he prepared an amazing lunch for us, showed us cute camels and he kept us smiling during the whole trip! :) It was fantastic experience! Thank you for thos amazing day!:)

Amazing experience at Mohammed Mutlak camp. We enjoyed a wonderful 4h tour through Wadi Rum with a guide before being taken to the camp. Even though our guide spoke limited English, we had a great time with him and he went above and beyond to make our tour worthwhile. When seeing the "tent" for the first time I was genuinely surprised. It's really a small cottage with wooden floor and door, and large double bed with pristine sheets. The showers were very clean for a desert camp and water ran hot. Dinner was a nice experience around a camp fire with possibility to lounge afterwards with tea. Breakfast was delicious as well. Our trip was finalized with a camel ride back, which was the cherry on top of the cake. Also incredibly happy how they handled husband's allergies. Would definitely come back.

there are few aspects to be clarified : in Wadi Rum you can't expect "cleanliness " or "location" as ideal or not cause of sand and cause location is everywhere " desert " ;) that said Staff was nice , dinner was GREAT , view amazing !! room/tend is small but comfy enough , during the day hot in the night " cold "! I thing this is a good place to be while in wadi Rum
