Ali and his team at Wadi Rum Travel Camp made me feel at home. I chose his camp based on the reviews and the very reasonable price for 2 nights and a 4WD tour. I was not disappointed. I met him in the Rum Village parking lot at the agreed to meeting time and rode with one of his fellow Bedouin for 15 minutes to his camp for my first night. They let us have as much food and tea as we wanted for each meal. I enjoyed sitting by the fireplace learning about Bedouin and my fellow travelers’ cultures. If you plan to go over winter, know the tents don’t have heat and have minimal insulation! I woke up shivering, even with several heavy blankets and thick clothing on. There wasn’t much the camp could have done about this - it’s a reality of being relatively exposed to the elements unless you’re in one of the luxury bubble tent camps. The 4WD experience the next day was a highlight of the trip. We spent 8 hours exploring the depths of the desert, with several scenic hikes through canyons and up dunes. Our guide prepared a delicious cooked meal using firewood he gathered on our afternoon out. The second night I moved to a camp run by Ali’s cousin because a large group had booked Ali’s camp. The second camp was larger than the first but did not have a fireplace in the tent to gather around. One heat lamp helped keep it warm but it did not have the same coziness as the first camp. I would have liked Ali to mention to me while booking that I would have to switch camps for the second night. They did invite us to a party the large group was having at the first camp though, which was a nice thing to do. Overall it was a fun trip and I would stay with them again!…

The driver is very nice and friendly, super patient. The Jeep wasn't in its best condition but i like its way, it gives even more sense of desert adventure ahhah. The camp is clean and located in an excellent location for sunrise and sunset.

We stayed for 2 nights at this beautiful camp and really loved it. It is nicely situated so you don’t see any of the other camps. The showers and toilet area was really clean and better than several of the hotels we slept in Jordan! Also the food was great: breakfast, lunch and dinner all was very good. As any camp, they organize nice jeep tours around the valley, which is a must do when you are in Wadi Rum. A tip for travelers: don’t leave your shoes outside of the tent when it’s dark, because the desert fox will grab it to play with it! I didn’t know this and one of guides of the camp was so nice to search the area in the morning and he found my lost shoe. Thanks again! A general tip for all the travelers and guides in Wadi Rum: please don’t leave the trash in the desert...I noticed quite some trash dump sites while wandering around...really horrible... …

I just returned from a visit at Ali’s camp in Wadi Rum. I am totally amazed and surprised of the experience. Ali is such a kind and generous being. Very grounded and calm to be around. He has lots of exciting stories as he has been living in the desert all his life. He will cater to your all your needs, wether it’s hiking through the desert, a sunset dinner, live music etc. This is a very authentic experience, not what you get in the “fancy” western camps elsewhere in the desert. Highly recommended.
