We stayed here during the winter to be close to Machtesh Ramon. Mati and Ronis place is well-kept, clean, and welcoming. We stayed in bunk bed room number 4; the rooms themselves are not much more than the bunk beds, which were reasonably comfortable. The accommodations are more like a hostel than a hotel. What makes this place a gem...

If you're looking for a typical hotel/hostel experience, then this might not be the best option for you, but if you are like me who is a young, high-spirited traveller seeking unique experiences and amazing adventures, then this place will give you that and more! The vibes here are incredible and the owners are very friendly and interesting. Locals and...

Thank you very much Mati and Roni for all your hospitality. They have a lot of stories to tell about the desert and a lot of lessons to teach. The house is very charming, the toilets were always clean, the food is amazing (shukshuka) and we had one of the best experiences of all our trip along South East Asia...

We booked four bunk beds in a room for four people. When we arrived they had put us in a room for six people. When we said we were uncomfortable with this as we were travelling with two young children (which we had stated in the booking), they told us we were wrong and had to stay in the room...

Option of tent or dorms. This is in the middle of the township. It was the cheapest place I could find in the area but it's very overpriced still. kitchen wasnt great and front door was broken so security is definitely patchy. If you want a laid back place to chill it's ok.

Hello . We are sorry to hear about your experience . The management that was running the hostel till December 2015 changed. Today the hostel is clean and serves really good tasty meals with vegetarian/vegan options. We hope to see you back here:)

Just a tent in the slams, this is not a beduin resort.. it is more like homeless rescue inn. We went there in pass-over hollyday it was a garte suprise to finduot that we are in the same backyatd with a gang of 20+ famely members comming for private event. The food was one of the worst things ever

Nice little house with tents set up out back. Great warm feeling. Robi cooked dinner for us in the backyard firepit. Some bedouin friends came by to make homemade pita on the fire and share a meal. We also had two families with us escaping rocket fire in southern Israel. Total 4 kids including our son. Everyone happy, chatty and...

My stay with Mati and Roni was simply something else. The warmth of this family is hotter than the desert sun! In a beautiful little garden there stands a big tent, decorated beautifully. This is a place to sit and hang out as well as eating delicious food made by Roni. At night it turns in to a cosy camp...

This is a tent in someone's backyard in the suburban streets of Mitzpe. You hear the morning traffic right outside your room. The kitchen and bathroom is in their adjacent house. Mati is friendly and helpful. Not a great family choice, if you have younger Kids. The Bedouin atmosphere is cute.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In the middle of the Negev Desert, we are a lovely warm guest house full with stories from the experienced travelers Mati and Roni that have already been all over the world. However, understand that people don't come here just because the desert is at our backyard or because of our sleeping accommodation that varies from Bedouin tents, Dorms and Double Private Rooms. Our main attraction is our atmosphere. We invite you to try this one-of-a-kind atmosphere, filled with mystery and self-discovery, and the chance to try some authentic Israeli food, meet some Bedouins, ride some camels on the crater's edge, let's make some fire and hear the best jazz music in your life! Stay with us and take a break from the civilized world! Under new management, Mati and Roni are back :) ... more   less

“You have plenty of options: staying in the main part of the guestent in the town, getting a small section of the tent (for 2) which is separated from everyone else only by some fabric, but it's privacy nonetheless, or camping out in the middle of the desert!! The last option is extra, but well worth it- something you can't skip.”
