I have never stayed at a hotel quite like this, and I mean this in a totally positive way. Firstly the property is situated out of Nong Khai city centre fairly close to the Friendship Bridge. It is an old family house converted very tastefully into a boutique hotel. The theme is simply peace and contemplation. If you are looking...

We stayed one night in the Sofa Gallery hotel. On arriving they showed us the garden room we had booked and offered us a " promotion" for a river side room. The garden room was very dark, and the extra fee was worth the riverside room. We paid Bath 1700 for the room including breakfast. Rooms are very basic, no...

The Sofa Gallery is a bed & breakfast located on the banks of the Mekong River. The owner, Khun Viset or Tiger, renovated an old house, adding flower gardens and pools. The service is very attentive. Khun Viset and Khun Mac are there to assist in sightseeing, restaurant recommendations, etc. A variety of local treats are breakfast choices, and they...

The staff in this owner-run hotel, are simply amazing and radiate a genuine warmth and kindness that can't be faked. We were served bespoke, heavenly food, which was all prepared from scratch, lots of it coming from the organic herb and vegetable garden. The owner-manager, "Tiger" is a trained nutritionist; you won't leave feeling hungry! The bathrooms are stunning, being...

We've been charmed by the hospitality and very personal attitude of its owner (Tiger) and his fried, assisting him in this small hotel. Our special appreciation to excellent food and hot hospitality we receieved for 5 days of our staying in Nong...

As soon as we entered the premises, we were overwhelmed by beauty of it and the friendliness of the staff. We really felt as if we were entering a new world! The owner, an artist, designed and built the hotel himself, which was apparent in the smallest details. Flowers on the bed, the interior of the rooms and the architecture...

Happened upon this beautiful small hotel in the growing town of NongKhai en route to Vientiane. It is newly opened and after having stayed in several other places in Thailand during this holiday with tired furnishings and staff the Sofa Gallery Hotel was a very pleasant change. Much love has obviously gone into the decoration and design of the place...
