I have been going to phiphi quite often the last year and I always stay at the Chunut House. It is a bit "far" from the center, meaning literally a 5 min walk but it makes the place a nice refugee from the loud /busy center and people partying at the beach. It's amazing because you can party (within 5 min) and also get away from it if you want. The staff is really nice, not everyone speaks english but there's always someone around or a way of communicating. The place is really clean, affordable, nice and big swimmming pool, honestly one of the best options for that price. So if you want to experience PhiPhi, the party an the quite/relax in a clean nice place that is affordable, this is your place to stay!
Myself and my partner called in for breakfast multiple times. The breakfast was amazing with a huge selection. The avocado smash and American breakfast were particular favourites! And the coffee is excellent. Can’t recommend enough.
Do not stay here. I came for 2 nigths and i pay for deluxe room but it was just a plain room so i ask for them t move me in better room but they dont speak english so they call t another girl and i explain again and again so they move us to a bugalow tha was in a beter condition.. the first room was next from the under costraction new rooms so was noisy.. The bathroom is realy bad the water was going everywhere. The ac was liking water and my boyfriend find insect in the room... nothing simiral for the fotos
Communication is a big problem ; card machine was not working while paying and we had a hard time to make the lady at front desk understand that it is the machine and not our card that is creating issue; after an exhausting checkin we realised that the air conditioner in our cottage is not working, and in that scotching heat we had to wait for another hour for them to give us an alternate room, as we had already paid and that amount was non refundable. Finally we shifted to a newly constructed room from the originally booked cottage, and that had a mattress which had huge bumps, but I was too exhausted to start another argument over that so we just stayed put, and I had very uncomfortable time sleeping on the bed. Further there is rationing on breakfast as we requested another egg in breakfast which was declined(politely). No mirror in the room ; No water geyser in toilet ; No cupboard. Construction is also going on in the property of new rooms/cottages as of Jan 2019. Property is located very close to a water treatment plant( I guess) as crossing that lane is terrible due to the stench! …
In our room we had very nice view! We are on the bed and we can see the forest and the sea ! The facilities is average. Also the big probem isbthe bathroom they should improve it is not so good ! The staff is very good and polite!
We had a very pleasant stay. I liked the location because it’s close to the touristic and party area but not in the middle of it. And it’s close to the beach and to a beautiful viewpoint. It’s silent and relaxing. The breakfast was good. The staff was GREAT. Wut helped us so much with the planning of the rest of out trip and even took us to buy the boat and bus tickets. The kitchen staff was great too. Super attentive. And the front desk lady too. Thank you all for everything. You made our stay at Phi Phi a great experience. When we come back we know where to stay. Sara, Ros and Patricia.
The pictures make this place look a lot more fancy that what it is. Very clean but it is also very rustic. The one manager was friendly while the other taller manager seemed overly inquisitive and nosy.
Rooms were clean and very quiet. The bathrooms were clean and well equipped. Although the rooms are located at a short climb from the reception area which might be a hiccup for some elderly travellers. The rooms had no kettles but was provided upon request. Very weird checkout time at 1100 considering the check in is at 1400 and they charge 200 thb for any extra hour above that.
Great service and kind personnel, especially mr. Wut who was very helpful and friendly, answering each and every question we might have had! The resort is in a great location, making it easy to reach both the shopping street and the beaches while at the same time being far from the crowds. The rooms are the best for those who look for an affordable place, surrounded by plants and gardens while at the same time being in the middle of town. The rooms are a bit spartan, with the bathroom being a little unkept, but confortable and good for the price you pay for them. We had a great time staying in Chunut House Resort!!
Stayed here with my boyfriend for two nights. The room was very basic, bathroom was like a wet room - didn’t get much hot water either. It had a fridge and a safe. The location was probably the best bit about here - right near the town and the view point. Would recommend if you’re looking for somewhere cheap as Phi Phi can be very expensive, however even at £60 a night I felt it was a lot for what we got! No housekeeping each day either.
