We stayed at the Ancient Realm Resort and Spa in May 2010 for 3 nights. We didn't know what to expect for a hotel in Koh Lanta, and based our decision to go on the affordable price and the reviews on tripadvisor. We were completely impressed with the friendly staff, clean rooms, tasty food and beautiful beach. Bonus: There is...

Ancient realm was certainly good value for money. The room rate was the equivalent of about 28 Aussie dollars with their low season special. This included Internet and breakfast. I was traveling alone, but they allowed me to have two breakfasts stil on some days when hangover/hungry, as they gave me two breakfast coupons for everyday when I checked in,...

Being a person who has travelled a lot I can say Ancient Reals Resort is the best you can get for your money. Especially if you are not after a European style anonymous sterile luxury but the traditional Thai style one. The beautiful location, sincerely kind service, fantastic room decoration and all extras we got - an elephant safari, massages...

I stayed here for 6 nights and it was a great place to stay. The staff were very friendly and the room was fantastic value for money. The 99 baht cocktails were fantastic. The only negatives I can think of is the internet wasn't working for most of the week and the massages at the day spa are a lot...

You will find it basic however there are plenty of ameneties, the staff are helpful and friendly, the beach is beautiful and it wont break the bank. we stayed in a suite which...

First of all, if you stay here, you know that the bathrooms are outside...so, please do not complain about it! I, personally, found that very cool....shower outside (not visible to others) in the morning with the sun shining on you...not too bad. Rooms are very nice with a lot of modern vacilities that you would not expect in this price...

Really loved the Ancient Realm. Definitely agree with the good reviews. You really get a lot here for what you pay for. The resort has a beautiful little charm about it. The place never feels crowded, and although it is a small resort, the rooms, gardens and big beach really feels spacious and inviting. The staff were generous and welcoming,...

Great value for money. Much cheaper than the other places we were looking at staying for a beachfront positioned bungalow. The bungalow was absolutely fully equipped. Big fridge, water boiler, coffee and tea, DVD player, torch, umbrella (thankfully not needed as the weather was perfect), bottle water, hair dryer, king size bed, many pillows and cushions, mosquito net, beach towels,...

We recently stayed at the Ancient Realm resort for about 8-9 days. Overall I was a little disappointed with the stay. While we were very warmly greeted at reception the rest of the staff seemed indifferent. Specifically the younger restaurant staff who seemed very unhappy to have to actually work. We wound up eating only one or two meals there...
