I can't say I enjoyed staying in the bungalow for its price. The walls were dirty and the the roof had moisture damages and so on. The bathroom stank piss so there were thousands of flies annoying you. There was a safety box in the room but it wasn't working and that is true for all the bungalows. But the... More

Great spot: OK on service. You can snorkel off the rocks from the bar and see lots of exotic fish, coral and then some fishing wire and plastic too. This was a good, relaxing spot south of the older Ko Lanta bungalows. Litter and plastic on the island is a completely Thai problem despite the 20B entrance fee at the... More

My girlfirend and I looked around Ko Lanta for a secluded beach, calm and natural as it can be- and we found it in Bamboo Bay ( Ao Mai Phai ) , the last bay on Lanta's west coast, and the last one before the National Park. We selected Bamboo Bay Resort because it seemed less pretencious, more welcoming, better... More

Bamboo Bay Resort is in the national park on a private bay with a backdrop of jungle...it is so unspoilt and the perfect place to relax and unwind. The resort has clean if basic rooms at a reasonable price. The staff are very friendly and helpful and it has a great bar/restaurant area to view the sunsets from and also... More

South west coast of Koh Lanta hideaway. No sounds at night other than nature. Family run with new generation in tact. Trust is attached the forefront of this resort so treat it like your home. The beach is unknown. No rubbish or trash so keep it that way. Creatures come out at night so sleep with one eye open. Dreams... More

We didn't book through agencies, we contacted them directly by email, paid in cash upon arrival. They have sent AC car to pick us up from the ferryboat, and they drove us back when it was time to leave (all free of charge). I guess that staying here really depends on few factors. My boyfriend (41) and I (34) enjoyed... More

We booked a fan room. We were given one at the very top of the hill. The bathroom was not clean, toilet was blocked and door didn't close properly leaving a bit gap in between. Because it was extremely hot we just went to the reception and ask for a AC room. The women kindly showed us one next to... More

Me and my friend booked Bamboo bay over the internet and got very little information about the place. We arrived at Koh Lanta late at night and had trouble getting to Bamboo Bay because no tuk-tuk wanted to drive there. We didn't understand first but when we finally found a car that could drive us there we got it. The... More

This is a very old review (December 2004, not 2014) but I wanted to write because my sister and I stayed here for a wonderful week over Christmas, 2004. We had a tiny, very simple little bungalow on stilts, ate every day in the wonderful restaurant, and enjoyed daily massage. The private beach was beautifully quiet, but we still met... More

As a tourist in Thailand (especially on an island as popular as Koh Lanta) you'll be hard pressed to find a beach as secluded/private as the one at Bamboo Bay. It's on the very opposite end of the island from the ferry you'll arrive on and the entrace is white-knuckle steep. Don't rent a scooter out here unless you're experienced.... More
