This hotel is the top choice of the Lonely Planet. I don't know why, because the walls where full of mold and wasn't cleaned properly since like forever. The lights where hanging from the wall on a few wires. But the smiles at the reception make everything alright. Very nice people in a hotel that needs a cleanup.

We spent 3 nights in a quiete room showing to the yard. In the first 2 nights a very kind and helpfull couple was managing the hotel and we were very pleased. Even the last night and the morning after, the owner-family was very, very kinid. Only thing which we didn t enjoy, was the breakfast. The service in the...

We stayed three nights at this centrally located hotel in Panaji. Reception and public spaces in hotel were very fresh and rooms were OK with bright colors. There were lots of cats around, adopted by the family that ran the hotel. Staff were friendly and helped us with local transport and info. There is not much bad to say. You...

Don't let the first looks distract you, this place looks like most of Panaji, little old and rusty, it is just part of the charm... the plus side: the rooms are very clean, the location is very central and this place has history! Just ask at the reception and you will find out why this hotel is a precious stone...

Going by the Lonely Planet's recommendation, my husband and I decided to stay at the Mayfair Hotel for our last day in Goa. I spoke with the owner (one of the two sisters) over the telephone to intimate them of our arrival and inquire about rates. I required a basic room for the two of us and was informed it...

This hotel almost ruined our holiday to Goa. The reception staff were horribly rude to my friends. We had paid a lot of money to stay there and then when we wanted to leave because the service was so bad (lectures on petty inconveniences, two hours spent at the beginning of our stay moving us around different rooms because the...

Room was nice and clean. The owners was helpful and friendly. Cleaning guy probably took a sip from our bottle of tequila, but bless him. :) Hotel is good located and quite cheap. We payed 1240 rupees for double.

Although acceptable, the hotel is a bit tired. The owners (a friendly family group) explained they were not able to budget any improvements or maintenance this year - it seems well overdue. The rooms are, however, clean. I did not appreciate the immediate pressure to pay in advance for the nights we were originally intending to stay. The tariff seemed...

I stayed at the Mayfair Hotel for 2 nights in December 2012. The reception was welcoming and the room was clean. The room cost was about 1000 Rupees for a single/double room non-AC. I hunted around the guest houses on 31st January Road and found that most of the rooms were pretty pokey although you could find a pokey room...
