Wonderful place, great people, 2 thumbs up, however.. the ocean is anything but "Pacific" :P Utz Tzaba is a great little bungalow style hotel on Guatemala's Pacific coast. It is literally "off the beaten path" so if you're travelling by shuttle bus or van from Guatemala City try to get on a modern, comfortable vehicle (with good shock absorbers). Once...

Beutiful and stylish place, a perfect location to relax a couple of days, the only disadvanteg is, that there is nothing else in the neighbourhood; if you are not there by car you have to eat at the hotel, and the food is fantastic, but really very expensive. Otherwise it is a great place to spend an extended weekend at...

When I went there, it luckily were a wedding event, and I would probably get married in a paradise like that, by the way. Its a great place to rest because is comfy, acceptable small enough, simply, clean and relaxing. It is at 20 mts from the sea and have a private beach. Is fully recommended.

We were staying in Antigua and had a local friend recommend this place to us after we told him wanted to see a black sand beach. Luckily, he knew that you were able to come to this place for the day for a small fee. It was absolutely gorgeous there!! The grounds are beautiful! The amenities there are great! There...

We stayed at Utz Tzaba in early March 2015. The rooms were spotless and the pool area was always clean. The restaurant food was very good, and the sunset is beautiful from down near the beach. The ocean was a bit too rough for me to swim. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Most exceptional was the manager's offer to...

My family stayed there for 3 nights the week of Thanksgiving. Service is amazing and the place is beautiful, well kept, and very clean. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because we are vegans and even though they accommodated all of our requests (made substitutions when necessary) they did not tell us the guacamole had mayo in...

We stayed at the hotel for a couple of days with my husband and daughter, even though it took us a while to get there since we decided to travel from Atitlan all the way to Monterico it was nice to see that the hotel is actually a few KM before the actual town, the hotel, the beach and room...

Recently we spent a couple of days in this hotel. It is recommendable as it is one of the better alternatives in the area. Our impressions are as follows: Positive: E-Mail inquiries were answered timely and with all the information required. Bungalows: we had rented a bungalow. They are spacious (for up to six people in two bedrooms), have a...

We live three months each year in Guatemala, thankfully at a higher altitude where it's cool. However, on occasion we feel like having a beach experience and have tried various hotels along the Pacific. Utz Tzaba is our favourite. The pool is great, food is as well, the drinks are crafted with much care, and the rooms are nice. We...

Don't stay here if you want peace and quiet. Loud, thumping reggaeton music from the hotel speakers can be heard throughout the hotel until 11pm. I reserved a room for 2 nights and left after 1 night.
