I visited this restaurant with a group of colleagues on a mission trip in Ghana. The food was well prepared and flavorful. The servings were large portions, and it's well worth ordering side dishes to try something new. I had the cornmeal breaded split fish with plantains and rice. I also tasted the yam fries and roasted fish from someone...

I was traveling with a large group, and we stopped at Mabel's for lunch. Mabel is Ghanaian, married to an American. She and her staff of two prepared a wonderful buffet for us. Her chicken was outstanding, and the plantains to die for. We had a lovely time eating at the ocean's edge and engaging Mable in conversation. If I...

The view is on the Atlantic. My sister played in the water, while we waited for our lunch to be prepared. The service was attentive and kind. There were 4 of us. We each ordered something different. The food was very good. I will be back!

I had the pleasure of stumbling across this place with a tour group, I was on via Access Africa! We walked into what was a magnificent view of the beach and what smelled like a divine spread. I got on line instantly for the buffet pile up. The food was so yummy and what a spread it was a fusion...

I'm thinking the positive reviews for this place must have been paid off. The Bradt book is also on crack for considering this place. It looks great when you first enter and the restaurant seems to have a great ocean view. Then you learn there is no wifi (some crap about the salt in the air)... and they recommend using...

When I'm in Cape-Coast, I go here regularly. You can get a table right on the edge of the ocean and watch the sun set over Elmina Bay. The food is safe if you stick to recently cooked items. Avoid lettuce, tomatoes, mayonnaise etc. The service is mind-blowing. You can order an item on the menu, the waiter will take...

At first sight, the room looked nicely designed and spacious. But when we looked closer, we found mice turds on the floor and in the corners of the room. The room also smelled very strongly to mothballs. When I asked the staff why the room smelled so strong, she started to collect the balls from every corner of the room,...

I love Mabels Table. I have stayed many times. The food is seasoned to perfection, the conversation is real, the Rabbi is enlightening and his wife is fabulous. The restaurant is kosher. The rooms are spacious and the ocean view is breath taking. You must experience it for yourself.

I'm on a study abroad program in Ghana for the semester and another guy on my program is family friends with the owner so luckily we stumbled upon this gem! The two owners and their daughter live on the property and are around and SO friendly. The man who owns it is active in the pan-africanism movement and will tell...

“I would have doubts about staying in the 'Hotel'. It's a guest-house at best and even then it could be quite an adventure.”
