My wife, 2 daughters and myself spent a very pleasant week at the boutique Almond Tree Guest House near Elmina, Ghana. We chose 2 large beautifully decorated en suite rooms, one air conditioned and one with a sea view. They were very reasonably priced. Our sea view room had a gentle sea breeze which kept it pleasantly cool. The guest... More

The guesthouse is situated few kilometres away from Elmina and it doesn't have access to the beach. The interiors are very nice and well looked after, with interesting billboards and pictures about the history of Jamaica and its most important personalities. Rooms are ok, very clean, but definitely too expensive for what they offer. We paid 50 USD per night... More

Stayed here for just one night, sufficed for our needs. Great base point to explore Elmina. They organised a drumming lesson for us which was really good fun! Breakfast was tea, bread and omelette. Room and bathroom was clean. Would recommend.

We a group of 3 (2f, 1m) and we went there because of the positive reviews on the almond tree in Lonely Planet, we arrived with expectations which proved to be too high. I can just repeat the experience of others: - The breakfast was the same as anywhere else (tea, omelette, toast) any extra cost extra but the prices... More

Having read the positive reviews on the almond tree in Lonely Planet and Tripadvisor, we arrived with expectations which proved to be too high. The breakfast was the same as anywhere else (tea, omelette, toast), the tv in the room wasn’t working and there is no sand beach within walking distance (it must be said that getting a hotel which... We arrived and were asked to pay the money for the room in advance. Only once they had our money did they reveal that they were still repairing one of the beds. After an hour we carried a bed from another room ourselves. We neednt have bothered since the noise from the carpenters down the hall meant we couldn't sleep... More

This quaiet house a bit out of center but only few minutes walking distance from tha main road (Elmina Accra) lools better from outside than inside. Rather dark interior and pretty much used don't make a good impression. Bathrooms are clean and nice but not always working properly! Breakfast is nice and included in the price.

We enjoyed our stay at the Almond Tree. We were there for 2 nights in the hottest month of the year (March). The staff was really friendly. The power went out the first night a few times and after it did this they moved us to a new room with more reliable power. Their restaurant wasn't open for dinner during... More

The hotel has 3 levels of accomodation, priced differently. We had the medium one, taht costs 100 cedi (~$50) wich is a rather high price in Ghana. The room was clean, but the furniture seemed old and the entire look of the room was dull. There was no AC or hot water (usually available at this price or lower price... More
