The hotel has lovely grounds and very nice rooms en suite .The bar and dining facilities were very good and it was a welcome sojourn en route to Cuenca via the Devil nose train and Ingapirca. It is definitely worth giving yourself time to explore the gardens.

Nothing wrong with this hotel. On your way from the North to the South a good place to eat and stay for the night. Everything is OK, but not more than that: The food, the room, the architecture, the service. On checking out the internet did not work, so for twenty minutes there was no possibility to pay by credit...

This is a well appointed and run hotel. The main building has a good bar, lovely restaurant with good range of food, computer room, craft shop, pool room, outside seating area with fire and lovely gardens. The rooms were large and clean. The wifi works everywhere- a code is needed from the reception. Nice service from the staff. Good value...

Unfortunately we arrived after dark and left before sunrise on our way to the Devils Nose train 2 hours drive away in Alausi. That said we found the hotel to be charming and our room large and well appointed. We ate dinner here which was excellent and whilst grateful that breakfast was available at 5am, it was pretty basic and...

After a fee ok hotels, this was the first really superb hotel in which we stayed. Everything was perfect, the room, the bed (enormous!), the bathroom, the shower... The whole area is very well mantained, and they serve breakfast as early as 5am since they know people are leaving at 5h30 to catch the train in Alausi (a 2 hour...

Stylish decorated rooms and areas. Enough space and gardens for the kids to play. Kind and friendly service. Delicious food ind the restaurant. The hacienda ist not in the center of the city, what is nice to have. It is near to the center and near to the small and sweet village Guano. I can only recommend it :)

We stayed only one night at this hacienda and sadly never saw it in the daylight, but it felt like walking into a cosy Austrian ski chalet ( fireplaces, a wood burner in our room, lots of wood decor and quirky antiques - irons and sewing machines ) Dinner was fairly plane but tasty. Breakfast was being served when we...

Once again a great stay in an excellent hotel in Ecuador. Nice quiet hotel with beautiful grounds. Rooms are big and have comfortable beds. Only stayed one night but would recommend this hotel. Restaurant was good for dinner as well for buffet breakfast. Friendly service as seems to be everywhere in Ecuador.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The wonderful Hacienda Abraspungo is located at 2,754 metres above sea level and is surrounded by the magnificence of the Ecuadorian Andes. It is named after a glacial valley which is situated between the Chimborazo Volcano and Carihuairazo, in the exact centre of Ecuador.Hacienda Abraspungo, with its comfortable, charming and high level installations offers a personalized service in the ideal spot to enjoy the peace and beauty of the Andes. The architectural style found here offers the best of traditional colonial design often used in the ancestral mansions and haciendas of Ecuador. The Hacienda is adorned with old photographs and illustrations of Andean landscapes, which today constitutes as a testimony to eras gone by. The antiques on display in the social areas give a colonial flavour as well as a feel for the pre-Colombian cultures of the region. The visitor can truly appreciate the richness of the natural resources offered by the Chimborazo Province and Ecuador in general. Each room takes its name from one of the mountains of Ecuador. That mountain is shown in the photographs displayed within the interior design in the room. The owner’s commitment is to create a working environment which allows sustainable growth, enhancing positive image and generating an overall feeling of trust between the working force, the clients, and the community, aiming to become a point of reference within the tourist industry of Ecuador and the city of Riobamba. ... more   less
