First of all, the people of Guayaquil have a penchant for receiving quests. This hotel could not be nicer, I had a great time visiting Guayaquil. It does not have Quito´s problems with the height and the cold.

Hi there, sorry for the delay, just returned from the Canadian Arctic and haven't looked into TripAdvisor... The Oro Verde Hotel is in downtown Guayaquil. It's a few blocks from the cathedral and the new esplanade. It has, I believe, two restaurants in house. There is a good (but expensive) restaurant about 200 yds away in the same street. There must be many restaurants nearby (as it is downtown), but please ask the bell man at Oro Verde and take a taxi. I do not recommend walking around in this area at night.
