My boyfriend and I visited this lodge this april, and had the best experience. Our guide (Luis T) really made it one of the highlights of our trip. He was so dedicated and full of knowledge. Also very nice with real showers and flushing toilets!
We just returned from three nights at Siona Lodge and it exceeded our expectations on all fronts. Luis is an incredible guide, with tireless enthusiasm and talent for spotting wildlife and always making sure his guests are having a great time. I'm not really sure...More

One of the guests went a little bit into the forest on the trail to look at birds in the morning. There is a trail into the forest that goes right off the property but I'm not sure how comfortable I'd be walking on it alone.

The treks aren't terribly difficult, but you can ask for the short trail to be sure you're not walking for hours. You should be prepared for insects, wear long sleeves and long pants and a hat. Be sure to get up early for the birdwatching boat ride and bring binoculars if you can. The guides are excellent, so take advantage of that.
