This was our first visit to Hvar on our last leg of our 14 days holiday in Croatia. Riva Marina Hotel is a lovely hotel situated right on the waterfront and is in a perfect location and only a three minute walk from the ferry We booked a double room , balcony with a sea view which was very nice , but for the price of the room it was a bit on the cosy side and there wasn't much room for your luggage which wasn't a problem for us as we only travelled light , but I imagine it would cause issues for some. The location and style of the hotel was pretty special . The food we had for a brunch on arrival and then 3 days of breakfast which was included in our booking was exceptional , very A la Carte with anything and everything including champagne. Top class food and very efficient service from the staff. You could eat indoor in the fabulous breakfast room or outside. We loved sitting on the comfy sofa's infront of the hotel in their bar and restaurant called BB bar and social club, watching the world go by and enjoying great drinks and cocktails with great views and sunsets. You also have the use of the facilities of the sister hotel around the bay , about a ten minutes walk to the Hotel Adriana , this is also a lovely hotel and you can use the spa, pool and roof top terrace with great views, which was a great addition. Highly recommend for a treat

Visited Hvar for the 1st time and absolutely loved it. Top hotel in a possibly the best location. Everything is right there and the hotel is right on the waterfront of the Hvar marina. We were upgraded to a junior suite and the room was very nice, big and comfortable. We received a bottle of proscesso too complimentary as we were celebrating my wifes birthday. We enjoyed hvar alot and requested to extend our trip by 1 night and the hotel obliged at the original rate and we continued in the junior suite. They also offered use of the pool etc at their sister hotel which was a short walk away but we didnt feel the need and didnt go there. Service at front desk, cleaning staff and at the restaurant was excellent.

This hotel has several pluses. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The location is wonderful, right on the marina and steps from the ferries to other islands. The pillows are the softest and best of any of our 7 hotels in Croatia and Slovenia. Now for the negatives. The rooms are small….SMALL!…There are no drawers, no luggage racks or place to put one, no storage anywhere. The AC can only be controlled from the front desk so you have to call to make any changes. There is no space in the bathroom either. There are no towel racks. The toilet paper holder has been installed in a stupid place. Every time you sit on the toilet, the paper falls off! It would have been simple to place the holder forward to avoid this issue.

Spent 5 days with my partner in this lovely hotel. Received a warm welcome on arrival and all the hotel team were so friendly and helpful during our stay. The hotel is recently renovated, our standard room was beautifully decorated and a nespresso machine was a nice touch. The rooms are small but this is an old building and a boutique hotel so to be expected. The bed is super comfortable with quality bed linen. The breakfast is a la carte which a treat. Lots of tasty options. The service team are lovely and a special shout out to Nikoli who went out of his way to make our stay special. If breakfast was busy it could be a bit chaotic so possibly could benefit from better systems. That said the quirks added to the charm and we would definitely stay here again if we return to Hvar. An added bonus is the use of pool and sun terrace at a sister hotel. Great views of the town, worth a visit.

Location is very central. However, staff not the most helpful and YOU CANNOT CONTOL THE AIR CONDITIONING FROM THE ROOM! Yes! You have to call The front desk if you want the room temperature changed. Poor design for guest comfort. Just arrived and not happy with the situation.

The best place to people watch, and stay while in Hvar. The staff was very helpful with dinner recommendations and reservations. Our room was comfortable and beautiful! The island is a must while visiting Croatia!

Although in a great location, the hotel lets itself down with its poor service and inability to get the basics right. We had a bathroom with no shower curtain and a flat floor, so it was impossible to shower without flooding the whole room. On checkout we were told that this was because it was a badly designed room and we were just unlucky - sorry! It wasn’t helped by the fact that the room wasn’t serviced one day, so everything was still soggy. And the breakfast was a joke! While everything was laid out very artistically, you couldn’t get the basics, for example some cereal with milk and fruit. Or a cup of tea with milk. And the waiting staff were distinctly unhelpful. Such a disappointment from a hotel with a great location, modern, peaceful and well decorated.

The hotel is beautiful but priced out if it’s league. My rating is not 4 stars but 3.75. We stayed at a number of hotels in Croatia. Riva is sparkling new but at over $400/night the room is very small and there are quirks that would have me look elsewhere were I in Hvar again. Service was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you don’t have a car the Riva is right on the marina (hence the name) and the hotel is steps from the pedestrian ferries. We took the ferry with a car to Stari Grad a 25 min drive to town. There is no parking at the hotel as Hvar is pedestrians only. You must call the hotel to have them meet you at the public parking lot which is €13/day. Emir from the hotel met us and was friendly and cheerful. The hotel is brand new and has new finishes and design. The blue theme is crisp and looks the part of a 4+ star hotel. Our room at €425/night was disappointingly small. There was only room for a 10” wide nightstand on each side of the bed. There was no room to put luggage. The room was too small for a luggage rack. The furniture was beautiful. The bathroom was brand new. However, there were no towel racks. You can only hang one towel on a hook. For multiple day stays it’s hard to conserve your towel. There’s no place to hang a wet bathing suit to dry. Back to the bed. It was two twin beds pushed together! It was made up so each side was separated. At night the mattresses separated and left a 2-4 inch gap in the middle of the bed. It made getting close sort of funny. You had to sleep on your own side of the bed! Sheets were first rate. Falling into the gap in a €425/night hotel? That’s not a 4 star expeirence. The hotel is small without any services to speak of. There is a sister hotel across the bay where you can use the pool but in Hvar the many beaches make that unnecessary. The breakfast was well made. The first day service was great but the second day it took what seemed like 20 minutes to get a waiter and an equal time for food. The location is perfect for people watching on the marina and it’s time to sit and watch the yachts come in and out. The buffet inside is odd because there are a lot of ingredients spread about but you really can’t make anything with those ingredients. There was some fruit and l granola and yogurt but no oatmeal. There was a lot of dried fruit. The menu was full and comprehensive and yummy but I didn’t understand how it fit in with the lobby buffet part. There was no lobby/buffet coffee which seems a no brainer for a breakfast buffet area. All in all Riva Marina is a beautiful place with a beautiful view to watch the beautiful people on the marina. It has what they say in real estate: location location location. However, the small size of rules, the uneven service in the dining area, and the funny bed makes it’s questionable value as a 4 trying to be 5 star hotel.

The place is very nice and ideally located in front of the port. The staff is really nice and the service is excellent. I recommend to chill on the sofas, enjoying drinks, breakfast or a delicious meal.
