Pros: Great swimming pools both indoor and outside. Lovely views from the sea view rooms. The room has a kettle and tea and coffee. The mini bar fridge is also great to put your water in to keep it cool. Breakfast has a really good selection of fresh foods. The staff in the breakfast area were very helpful and friendly. There were good precautions in the breakfast area for Covid and also sanitisers available throughout the hotel. There is a buggy service where a member of staff can drive you down or collect you from the end of the promenade - this is very useful as it is quite a long climb up to the hotel via the steps. Computer and printer is available and this was very useful to print off boarding cards. Cons: The hotel is advertised as a 5 star and it has high prices to match that rating however; the bedrooms would not rate as 5 star in my opinion. They are good but more like a 4 star. The sea view room R41 that we stayed in had a badly stained carpet. This is the first thing you notice when you walk in the door. The corridor carpet is also stained in places. The pillows are really terrible - extremely soft. The furnishings are a bit worn looking for a 5 star hotel. Staff on reception are not very friendly. There is a shortage of chairs around the indoor pool. The bar area was also short of chairs when we were there. A number of people had to drink at the bar standing up.

I hardly ever write reviews, but this time I simply have to. There are no words to express all my feelings! It was perfect stay! From the fist second to the last moment! Location. It’s literally 5 minutes away from airport. Bolt taxi cost less than 8 eur one way. Believe - you forget about airport and planes being so close straight away. I know people preferences are different, but I enjoyed travelling to Du! brovnik by boat (which by itself was pure sea excursion with gorgeous coastal views) but living away from the stone city full of tourists. Hotel is located on it’s own peninsula covered with pines in a very picturesque bay facing small town of Cavtat!!!! Hotel and stuff. We arrived abt. 16:00. Our room was ready. We were upgraded to the sea view room. I said, that I’d prefer to see sparkling lights of the bay in the night… No problem! Here you are- room overlooking Cavtat on the highest floor. And if you don’t like the view- just let us know, we’ll change it straight away! And… We prepared a bottle of sparkling wine for you, because of your anniversary, but as soon as we arranged you a different room you won’t find it as you enter, but we’ll bring it to you in couple of minutes. -We are not used to sleep under one big duvet… Could you possibly bring us one extra, so that husband won’t steel the duvet from me every night?…And is it possible to get some herbal tea instead black one?…. Of course!!! Here you are!!! We literally got upstairs by elevator from the reception ( no more than 5 minutes) - and guess what!!!!! Two extra duvets and a basket full of different herbal teas!!!! -Could we have extra shampoo, please…?…. Please, enjoy! Here you are - double quantity of all the shower products every day! -It’s rainy outside, could we get an umbrella?…. Here you are!!! Please take two for both of you. -Can we buy your umbrellas, we liked them a lot?…. Please take them as a gift!!!! -I don’t feel quite well, is it possible that my husband will bring me something to eat from the buffet to the room?…. Surely!!! Please do as you wish!!! -I still don’t feel quite well, and I’m not sure I’m strong enough to to go downstairs to Cavtat and back upstairs to the hotel… Our buggy will take you downstairs! And when you wish to come back, just call us and buggy will pick you up upstairs to the hotel! -Our flight is quite late in the evening…. Surely!!! You can enjoy yourself in the hotel as long as you wish after check-out. You are welcomed to use our spa, saunas, swimming pool, terraces - feel yourself at home!!! Food. Every day you have great choice for breakfast. I won’t even describe- you have everything you can want for breakfast. Dinner - great choice as well. Much more that you can eat. I went only for seafood, as even with just sampling all the choice of fish there were more than I could eat. And I’m not talking about everything else - meats, poultry, pastas, risottos, deserts!!! I sampled during this week more different seafood than I have done before in my whole life!!! I even discovered that my stomach don’t support :) fresh fish carpaccio - but that’s not the hotel’s fault :))) Guarding Angels. As Cavtat is coastal town - there are a lot of cats everywhere, guarding and protecting from mice and rats. The same in Dubrovnik. Some are living near the hotel as well. I usually saw two, and I called them Kava and Kolačić :) Doesn’t matter whether you are a “dog” person or a “cat” person, simply be the human - buy one pack of cat biscuits in the first day, and take it with you wherever you go - you’ll always see someone waiting for the biscuit :) Hotel Croatia - Thank you ALL!!! My heart is with you!

The hotel is nice and as per the pictures. We caught a stomach bug while there and the hotel were very kind, offering to call a doctor, let us have late checkout for whenever we needed it etc. It was nice to feel looked after.

We had a fantastic stay between 18-25th September. We greeted by the very welcoming and professional Vlado who informed us to our delight that our room was ready to check in at 11am which meant we could start enjoying our holiday straight away. The hotel location is stunning, views on all sides. The views from the sea view room balcony was unrivaled and we ended up staying in the hotel to enjoy a happy hour (20% off) cocktail and the sunset from our balcony more than we anticipated. The pool area was lovely but as other reviews have stated could get quite shaded. The cocktails were excellent at the pool bar and we felt they were very good value. We ate lunch here also and felt it was good value for the price and amount of food we received. We preferred the rock 'beach' to the pool as you had your own little private platform with deck chairs and umbrella. The sea was beautiful and refreshing. We didn't go to the harbor area to swim as it looked a little crowded with the sun beds quite close. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of options and a beautiful view over the wonderful cavtat. I would recommend the omelets and meat/cheese selection. There was a lovely server at the breakfast called Rodylia (I'm sure I spelt this wrong) who delighted in explaining the local pepper sauces. The head waiters were very welcoming on coming to the dining room, the waitresses were average. I found the people actually serving the dishes behind the counters to be very friendly and nice. We had half board which we didn't intend on using but actually ended up eating in the hotel 4 nights as it was so easy and convenient and easy. I would highly recommend looking at the dinner menu on the board just before the dining room entrance and deciding what dished you would like to try and just going to those stations. We didnt see it the first night and ended up overloading our plates and smish smashing flavours into a bit of a mess. There are cold starters, hot starters, mains, deserts, cheeses and salads and a cheeky burger every night. The cleaning staff were especially helpful and win the award for the most friendly members of staff who really went the extra mile. The hotel is convenient with just a stroll to the harbour and village where there are cute little bars and restaurants. I would highly recommend Le Boheme in the village and also we had lovely lunches on the far harbour. There is also a small little shop in the hotel. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay in this hotel, it is good value for the number of amenities and their quality. This hotel is perfect if you want a base where you can be equally happy just staying and relaxing at the resort some days and to explore Dubrovnik and Montenegro on others. We would love to come back again. Covid precautions made us feel very safe.

From the efficient welcome - we were early as the flight was ridiculous, and the delightful sea view room, we really liked the Hotel Croatia. Staff were lovely - especially the guys who drove the buggies and really appreciated being asked how they were each day, and the bar staff in the evening who were great. The food at breakfast was so-so but I'm a hater of breakfast buffets, and they were doing a really good job to make guests feel safe, with perspex panels up and so on. We only ate once of an evening on site - because there are so many lovely restaurants in Cavtat just 10 minutes stroll away there was no real need. We ate at the steak restaurant and the food was lovely, really good quality steak cooked well, My only observations (not complaints!) were that the hotel pool had the usual sunbed reservers and nothing was done about it - and given that only half of the pool gets any sun for those who want to sunbathe this was unfair. Similarly, the little platforms beside the sea where you could swim were reserved sometimes from about 7am. Our room overlooked these and I watched people doing this whilst I had a coffee on the balcony. The buggy service needs a way of informing them that guest are waiting at the bottom - it is walkable up the hill, but for me that was a no brainer, way too steep but OH is like a mountain goat so no problems for him.. The hotel's location is brilliant, and I'm going back with a friend in the Spring.
