I enjoyed the feeling about being immersed in the ancient town with a building to match. The views were great and it was located a short walk to more of the action in ancient tow. Lots of sites, restaurant and amenities near by

Hotel is basic but clean and ideally located. Staff are very friendly and will help you with luggage which has to be manhandled to the hotel as there is no car access. Many restaurants in the area which is good as the hotel has none. Breakfast is served the reception and is basic but OK. Location and staff make the...

This was a beautiful place to land after a long trip and has everything you need, including awesome location, atmosphere and hospitality. The room was small for twin share but beds super comfy and great tea. You're right at the heart of the old town so it's a tourist swarm, but so easy to venture out into the rural areas....

Located in a traditional house with rooms clustered around a central courtyard, this is a charming place to stay....and the staff definitely help it make it so. Very warm, friendly and helpful. And yes, they speak English. We would awake some mornings to the sounds of a woman playing a traditional stringed instrument. The rooms are only big enough for...

It's a small (simple) but very cozy hotel, with 10+ rooms in a small inner courtyard, located near the small and big stone bridge, at the heart of Lijiang Ancient (old town) Town. The rooms cost are fair for this type of hotel, but what is exceptional is the staff - given its a little hard to find if you...

I was picked up in the front entrance the first night to take me to the hotel since old town street can be confusing. Welcomed with a hot cup of tea and some tasty cookies. Very comfortable room with heater brought to the room and also electric blanket. Great view of part of the old town from the room. The...

Even though the rooms are simple, this Guesthouse is awesome. The staff is really the best. Gentle, helpful, caring, they make your stay the most pleasant. And in the mornings, around 8:30, a lady musician comes play her Zheng (Chord instrument), which is a very calming and soft music for breakfast. The breakfast is great for westerners, toasts, eggs, fruits...

staying at Zen Garden hotel feels like staying in a wooden alpine chalet with rooms overlooking a small courtyard garden. You are completely sheltered from the old town buzz, yet five minutes walk from its central square. I stayed in November and the very hot shower was very welcome. Manager Yang Zhi Mei speaks English and is always helpful. As...

This hotel is so handy for the Old Town, a 5-minute walk to the main square. Despite this we did not hear any noise late at night so it was also very relaxing. The people are fantastic; always there with tea and sunflower seed biscuits, and nothing was too much trouble for them. Very pleased with our choice, thank you...

On a 21 day trip in China this was our favourite hotel from a list of four star hotels several of which were "upgraded". Really peaceful and perfectly located, the staff were all pleasant and helpful the breakfasts tasty and plentiful. Tea and biscuits seemed to be available around the clock and appeared whenever we passed through reception.
