Stayed at Hotel Indigo Lijiang for three nights during the Qing Ming festival. The staff went out of their way to be super friendly and helpful. I’d especially like to recognize the front desk staff and Sunny Xiao who made it a point to come say hello at breakfast and to provide very helpful tips of where to go and what to do. All the staff I came across at Indigo and the sister hotel, Intercontinental, were superb. They helped arrange for cars to take me to Blue Moon Valley and provided recommendations on how to maximize my itinerary. All the recommendations worked out very well. I stayed in a suite and found it to be well appointed and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the flexibility of being able to experience a boutique hotel (Indigo) and also the more fulsome amenities (Intercontinental).

Gave a four star due to the room got foul smell in the toilet and hot water wasn’t consistent when having shower. Cordless phone wasn’t charging so needs to be replaced the battery. Breakfast in the morning at 06:30 was supposed to be ready but it wasn’t as bread and some other items were not there. Otherwise Julia was very welcoming upon check in and the overall team were very hospitable and good service. A welcome note from Housekeeping and the set up was nice. Thank you for the service team.

The hotel is a series of full and half villas on a compact and lovely property at the edge of old town. Nearly all amenities are on the adjoining Intercon (pool, lounge, gym, spa) We also has breakfast over there once we discovered we could. The staff at the Indigo was as helpful as possible and our villa was quite nice, but I might consider staying at the Intercon next time if the price is comparable (and if there is room with a Mountain View available). Enjoy!

Indigo Lijiang is the first hotel I stayed in Lijiang. I booked this due to the good review and ranking on TripAdvisor(4th in Lijiang). First of all, rooms and restroom is huge, everything looks quite new but classic, only cons is the view(no view at all from my room). Upon check in, they give you the welcome drink ticket that you can enjoy at the intercontinental lobby bar next door. And the view at there is unbreakable. One thing I would like to appreciate is their front office team especially Grace, she helps us to call hospital about the COVID-19 testing process and details even I already checked out the room, she get back to me via email as I doesn’t have mainland phone number. In additional, I stay at the intercontinental on the next day and found that indigo is better mainly because of the room facilities and amenities, few plugs at intercontinental is not working and there is no air conditioner. Indigo is the best choice if you are looking for a ihg hotel!

Hotel is connected with the intercontinental next door. You can use the gym/pool there (pretty standard) and also have breakfast at either hotel. It’s about a 15-20 mins taxi ride to the train station and an extra 10 mins to the airport. It’s a smaller compound but more intimate. Nicely decorated hotel in line with the old town building style. You are right next to the entrance into the old town which is super convenient. Room was large with a slider that can separate living room and sleeping area. There is someone who can literally make anything out of towels! Had a rabbit and different type of bird on our bed each day. Thank you! Breakfast was not terribly exciting given the cost of the hotel... decidedly average. Staff was courteous and helpful throughout except up on departure... unfortunately this ruined the entire stay... a real shame.
