A great place to visit for those that have done the typical Beijing, Hong Kong, and Shanghai circuit. Much to see and do in this very interesting, cultural, and historic region. The village of Xizhou provides a 'real China' experience - big government and industry has yet to reach this area. Local tours are easily arranged via the Linden Center....

Thank you for your kind words. While we are guardedly optimistic about the preservation of our home village, Xizhou, we must warn guests that the surrounding areas are becoming increasingly developed. This development, which brings many economic benefits to the local residents, makes it difficult for visitors to 'touch' the old culture. We are presenting a more balanced tourism model...

We visited Linden Centre with our 3 kids and friends. The place is an old and very beautiful family estate, that the Linden couple has restored in the most beautiful way and turned into a boutique guest house. The place is absolutely fantastic and you feel like being in old China. All wooden carvings, small symbolic details and very relaxed...

I stayed here for a week in October, 2016 but am just getting around to writing a review. I am American and I traveled with my Chinese sister-in-law. We were both very delighted with our experience at The Linden Center. Jeannie is what I call a "beautifier" and whatever she touches become beautiful! The Center is decorated and run with...

The creation of the Centre has been the result of a 'perfect storm' of past experiences, passions and dreams. Jeanee and I are more than husband and wife, more than father and mother, and much more than hotel owners. We hope to inspire a new generation of Chinese to more carefully and thoughtfully protect their cultural and environmental resources. As...

The Linden Center is a wonderful and authentic place, created by two special people, Brian and Jeannee Linden. We enjoyed a large and comfortable room. The friendly and smiling staff is most helpful and speaks English. We loved the still unspoiled village of Xizhou. Linden offers a lot of extra's like a well stocked library, a free morning tour to...

Thank you for your kind words. We appreciate your comments about the furniture and proper heating in the cafe. This has been a challenge for us. We originally used wood and leather chairs in the bar but they were quickly destroyed by the constant eating and drinking that goes on in that setting (they were also very hard to wipe...

I feel as though review I can write would even remotely do justice to the Linden Centre. But alas, I will try to highlight some of it's many delights for you intrepid explorers. My mum & I stayed here a little over 3 weeks ago, and having galavanted around the rest of Yunnan province all the way home to Australia,...

Sometimes I cannot say anything but 'thank you'. Your comments inspire Jeanee and me to continue to promote our model of inclusion and preservation. We just returned from a potential national park project in southern Sichuan. As with all our future projects, the government has turned to us because of our model. We try to be so much more than...

One of my friends in China highly recommended this place and it lived up to all expectations. My husband fell down on YuLong Mountain and hurt his back. With a 4-year old boy, I was so helpless in a remote village. Mrs. Linden was the angel answering our prayers. She went to see my husband in the middle of her...

We stayed 2 nights just before Chinese New Year. The building is fantastic and the whole atmosphere is welcoming and informative. The morning tour of Xizhou is very informative and the whole team there are so informative about the local area and whole region. In terms of helpfulness, they called CTrip when we hadn't arrived by 6pm to let us...

This hotel is a restored home situated in the rice fields of Xizhou, and the rooms center around 3 beautiful courtyards. The Lindens employ mostly local folks and strive to provide opportunities that get the guests involved in activities in the local village. Our group took a walking tour of the village, including the market, shops, temples and the memorial...

We are honored when guests, who spend even a short time with us, are moved to write comments about their stay. While we cannot replicate the luxury of the newly built Hilton, we can outshine them and any other hotel with our passion and knowledge. Even during your short visit, you were able to feel the soul and professionalism that...
