This hotel is absolutely crappy. No one speaks English, so it is impossible to communicate and the staff at the reception is surly and avoids eye contact. The room was dirty, the bathtub had a rim of brown dirt all along the border, the shower curtain had a filthy brown border. This is the only hotel throughout our visit in...

The Peony Hotel in Luoyang was like a slice of America. Our safe would not work as it had no batteries in it. We struggled with language problems for about half an hour to get 4 new batteries to fit into it and then to get the Chinese maintenance lady to fit them right way round. The manager agreed a...

Good central location - good sized rooms and breakfast was above average for China. Staff very helpful and very easy check-in and check out. I would stay here again if I was travelling to Luoyang. Good choice of restaurants nearby.

There is a cafe in the foyer which has a sign outside saying coffee, but asked for coffee and was met with a blank look and a firm no. Had to settle for a beer which was twice the price we had paid in the restaurant 10 minutes earlier. Dinner was good, the breakfast room was massive and had a...

Made a 2 weeks tour through China. The Hotels we were in, were medium but decent. This one was under all that we had to expect. When we got out of the bus, we even did not immediately find the entrance of the Hotel because of the chaotic surrounding.. The restaurant was not clean, cigarettes burns on the carpet and...

I stayed there during a business trip for two nights. The room itself was not too bad, however dark with unsufficient lights and the bathroom was tiny and not clean. The room offered a view onto a horrible roof top landscape. The so called "Western Restaurant" (chinese buffet style) was for me a nightmare, and the dirty and chaotic surrounding...

Stayed for one night only as part of a tour of China. We visited the Shaolin Temple and Longmen caves. Clean hotel with quite an impressive entrance. From the room we looked out over the city below. Breakfast was fine but we didn't eat any other meals in the hotel. We were not impressed with having to pay to use...

We stayed at the Peony Hotel on October 4-5 2011, and used it as a base to visit the nearby Shaolin Temple and Longmen grottoes. The hotel is adequate. The breakfast buffet was typical of other hotels, but was often crowded. The coffee was burned to within an inch of its life. Rooms were okay with typical very firm mattresses....
