One of our biggest highlight for the trip to Yangshuo. This place is really amazing, its out of the Yangshuo main town, but close to the orchards. Sitting at the dining place give you a feeling of going back to the old days. Our honour to get to know Terry and Xiao Jiang, they treat us like their very good...

Valleluna is a perfect spot to base yourself near Yangshou. A rustically renovated set of old Chinese farmhouses, situated across from mandarin orchards, the hotel and its staff are charming and welcoming. Located in a small village called Moon River about a 15 minute drive from Yangshou, the hotel is a fantastic alternative to the noise and bustle of Yangshou....

This may be the best place you will stay in China. We extended our initial stay at ValleLuna because of the rustic charm and high level of service. It is a very personal place, that offers a sense of belonging with the local culture. The food is amazing and cooked by the owner using local ingredients. We stayed here for...

Valleluna is a totally unique place to stay in a fantastic location surrounded by the Karst mountains. The vibe was relaxing, the scenery was stunning and Terry's attention to detail was faultless. The owner, Terry, lovingly restored this big farmhouse himself providing big spacious rooms, an elevated dining area with space for a BBQ, and a viewing platform overlooking the...

Terry - the owner, manager and cook- is a legend. His food was outstanding, his service was superb and the house itself has a lot of magic and amazing history. We really planned this part of our trip since it was our last part in China and we were really happy with the decision. The place is far away from...

Booked in Valleluna Inn is purely by luck since I'm really tired after reviewing hundreds of hotels in Yangshuo and nothing caught my eye at all. Though there are only few pic on Agoda, my gut told me this might be the place for our vacation in this hot season (May holiday). To be frank, I didn't expect too much...

First of all, this is not a hotel so do not expect a hotel standard, in regular terms. This feels like living as a guest at someone's home on the countryside, the houses are 220 years old, personal, calm, relaxed atmosphere, close to nature and the mountains. Terry, the owner is one of a kind! His food is also excellent!...

We fully enjoyed our stay at Valleluna Inn. After working in the fast paced city for 6 months, I needed a much deserved break from the noise and congested roads. Valleluna Inn is away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist hotspots, it's wonderfully peaceful, and a perfect getaway. The owner, Terry, and his staff are very helpful and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Run away from the bustling packed West street of Yangshuo, follow the road, the flow of the river, see the elegant hills, the crisp clear water during the 16km trip to the little farming village Luoyue Wan ( the moon set bay). Located between the mountains and the cannel, about 100 families remain in this traditional village while most of the youth left their old home where they grew up with their parents and grandparents. They left the silence dimgrey roof tiles, aging earth colored walls, while the old man still smoke his bamboo water pipe by the door, simply watching the sun rise and set, watching the seasons come and go.The guest house is located at the north corner of the village, a landlord’s manor which dates back 200years since the Qing dynasty era. The wooden shrine and fort along with the houses and the land was assigned to 16 families during the revolution who’s descendants are still in the village. 15rooms are available for rent. Each has been renovated while maintaining the original look and feel. They were adapted into a guest house, not luxurious, not fashionable, it simply represents the famous Chinese poem“pick up eastern rose near my fence, carefree and content looking at the mountain to my south”Look far through the window, a farmer finishing his day, walking slowly behind his water buffalo and dog on the quiet road, steam and smoke rises from small kitchens. It’s twilight hour. The distance between the road and fields starts to blur, the mountain peaks melt into the star light. The local chatter and distant barks create a calming atmosphere. Time to feast! ... more   less
