The hotel is located in a pedestrian mall and very near the night market. However, it was quiet at night and we were able to get a good night's sleep. Location is central and very easy to get a taxi along the street. Easy to find food as well. Room quality is good. At least they have an enclosed shower area that is a pretty good size. Reception staff is friendly and check in and out very efficient.
This hotel is in a great location. It is next to the night market and a short drive from Mogao Caves and Crescent Lake. Our room had bugs (twice). The room was supposed to be one large bed, but we received a room with two small beds.
There are many good things to say about the hotel. 1) The hotel provides free pick up from railway station to hotel = ontime with my name on a signboard. We were greeted nicely by the driver. 2) We got a free upgrade from double bed to 2 x twin bed without extra charges and the room provided is better than what they shown on pics which I share some here. 4) The tour manager is very helpful, planned our dunhuang tour at very reasonable price and helpful which is so rare in China. 4) The room service is good came everyday and change towels and clean everything and they did a good job. 5) laundry service is really expensive in Dunhuang and they asked to wash simple clothes at bathroom and they provide a drying place on 2nd floor. And many more... most important is the location is the best = at the Dunhuang night market, easy to buy foods and etc. The city seem never sleeps as the night market closed at around 2am. Many things to explore and see. 4) aircon very cold and is paradise in room as outside temperate > 40. Highly recommend to all who want to visit dunhuang and stay at reasonable priced hotel. Most importantly they accept foreigners，a lot of hotel only accept mainland Chinese as their guests. But this hotel accept foreigner. You can wechat them or send them email, very quick reply. Choose here if your budget is around there.…
Excellent location, right at the entrance of the city center and pedestrian area. Tons of restaurants and shops just around the corner. Bus stop to MOgao cave is just across the street and train ticket office 50 meters away. Room was fine and clean. Staff spoke zero English, but one of them was more communicative and customer-focused, and was quick to get her translation app and even came with me to the nearby train ticket office to make sure I could buy the exact ticket I wanted. Security guy was always very friendly. Some of the staff seemed completely helpless and afraid of trying to communicate with a foreigner who doesn't speak Chinese.
This hotel was one of the cheapest hotels we stayed at in China and we arrived with a little apprehension. However, right from the included railway station pickup, early check-in, organising tickets to the Mogao Grottoes and finally, assisting us in getting transport to Liuyuan to continue our journey, the staff could not have been more helpful. They have limited English but try hard and make good use of the various phone translators. We were able to get by quite well with no Mandarin at all. One staff member walked with me 1.5 km to bus station to buy bus tickets to Liuyuan for me. They do not officially provide breakfast, but you can arrange a basic cooked breakfast via the front desk. The room was clean and the internet worked OK. All you need for short stay and at a very good price.…
