There are a lot of things wrong with this place, it's is in dire need of a face lift especially the toilets, the noise from the birds in the morning is terrible and you will frequently be unable to find anyone. On the other hand however the location is great, it's right next to the dunes and moon lake area,...

Was a little confusing to get to from the airport. Eventually found my way to be greeted by a English speaker. Pretty nice guy he will help you out and organize tours if need be. I did a camel tour into the dessert and really enjoyed it. The food is alright nothing special, but it's pretty good and easy. The...

Lovely little place. Staff warm and welcoming. Provided umbrellas for us when it rained. Rooms a little warn but still generally clean. Very accessible to and from town. Bus from town: number 3 (behind market) takes 10 minutes and you get off at last stop. Walk down the path to you right. Turn left and walk dmfor 5 minutes until...

The place must have been nice but a long time ago. It's not well maintained. The rooms are dirty. Bathroom are horrible. It looks quite abandoned. However the location is good for a excursion or a trip to the dunes. The receptionist speaks a little English which is helpful. There is no possibility to eat or drink in the guesthouse....

Charleys has a great location, it is very close to the sand dune park and not too far from town (1rmb until 8pm, 2rmb after) We didn't know what to expect having read other reviews but we liked the idea of being away from the town so we stayed here. We are glad we came but it is an experience....

Charley was very helpful and responsive in arranging my stay and an excursion in the desert. He even took me by car to catch the taxi. Bathrooms and showers could do with some more cleaning. The single room was spacious and cool even if it was very hot outside. Nice ambience overall.

The building is a copy of an old-style house with an open courtyard where you can relax and eat. The private room was a good size with a standard, Chinese-style bathroom. Charley speaks excellent English, which was nice after staying in places where minimal or no English is spoken. He is very helpful. Meals are prepared freshly and were good....

We stayed for a couple of days, the atmosphere is very relaxed. A real backpacker hostel. Our room was clean, but the bathroom a little bit small, but enough. Is far from down town, but the place is lovely just beside de dunes. The owner has instant noodles to sell, always.

We stayed in hotels and then stayed atCharlies. Yes it is a trade in. But I would stay there again. The location is great. The toilets were clean, however they need to empty the waste paper more often as this can stink. The showers I cleaned because they were grimy. Two days later they were grimy again from a mixture...

We stayed in a cabin for 3 days (120 RMB for 2) and we really enjoyed it! They are located in a small garden near the guesthouse. Lovely peaceful atmosphere. The toilets and shower were NOT dirty - not sure about the toilet and shower for the people sleeping in the dorm - . Not much to do around the...
