We (2 adults & 2 teens) booked a 1-night stay at Kaiyuan Life hotel (booked on Trip.com) for our first night in the Yellow Mountain area. What a find this hotel was! New hotel (2018) in a 160 year old building. They have the entire alley, so many buildings. We were in 2 rooms near the front desk. 1 king bed room and 1 with 2 twins. The rooms were a very good size, beautifully decorated and lovely bathroom with large shower. They also just installed a pool and lucky us it opened the day we arrived. The manager Ada was so helpful. Her English is excellent. She helped us hire a car to take us to our next hotel in Tongcun village. She gave me her WeChat and told me to call her anytime if we run into any problems or translating issues during the rest of our trip. Such a lovely person 😊 Room includes breakfast and afternoon tea. Breakfast was buffet with scrambled eggs, toast, fried noodles, steamed buns, fruit and great coffee. Also had fresh soup noodles. Was good & sufficient. Afternoon tea was juice and fruit and 2 little cakes. Perfect mid-afternoon pick me up. Great location on an alley in the old walking street in Tunxi. They will meet your taxi and bring you to the hotel. I called the hotel from the train station and told them we were on the way. Taxi from train station was 50rmb, 25 mins. If you are travelling to Tunxi absolutely stay at this hotel!…
Great hotel. Not too big but spread over a couple of very delightful buildings designed in a traditional style but everything being modern. Highly recommended. Very tasty traditional breakfast along with coffee, toast, fried eggs also etc
We stayed for 2 nights at Kaiyuan Life Huanchun inn. Beautiful, new, clean accommodation with wonderful service from the friendly staff. We requested to stay in different room for each night and they were so kind to arrange for us. The staff also brought us around the inn. I am very happy that they served complimentary light dessert in the afternoon. What I loved most was that they made free Italian coffee for me upon request. If you are staying in Tunxi, I highly recommended this place.
I stayed here for one night on 2nd November 2019. Due to ongoing development of the land at the front of the building, the hotel looks unprepossessing from the outside but inside it is a wonderful and peaceful oasis. The building has been tastefully renovated and maintains a traditional feel while offering modern conveniences. My room was large, comfortable and immaculately clean. The hotel is literally yards away from the bustling and interesting Tunxi Ancient Street. But what impressed me most was the kindness and helpfulness of the staff who bent over backwards to make my stay comfortable. Recognising that I do not speak Mandarin, Grace, the Service Manager who is fluent in English, made sure she was always on hand to help if I needed it. My room rate included breakfast, but having arrived tired after a lot of travelling, I explained that I preferred to sleep late the next morning and would not take breakfast. Instead the hotel offered to prepare something specially for me for my lunch which not only did they deliver to my room but also did not charge me for it as I had not taken breakfast. All the staff were so friendly and keen to make my stay a pleasant one. I would certainly recommend this hotel.…
Our guide recommended us to stay for one night and I was totally blown off by the nice artistic Chinese architecture and yet modern amenities in a renovated old house in Tunxi old street . Not easy to find in a back alley but very convenient to walk in the old street in the night and early morning yo take pictures when not so crowded . The local breakfast was also nicely presented . Rooms are big , great with nice tea and snacks . Not suitable for old folks as no lift . It is a must to stay at least 1 night if u are in Huangshan region . A hidden gem!
This hotel is a hidden gem in the old city of Huangshan. Chinese friends mentioned it to me otherwise I would have never found it. The hotel is located in a small side street that is rather difficult to find at first sight, in the old part of the city. If you send a message once you are in the taxi, they post a staff member for you at the border of the old city to guide you to the hotel (walking). It is a stunning, luxurious, boutique hotel in an ancient building, beautifully redecorated in a kind of minimalistic style. All rooms are different. Very, very comfy rooms, good bed, nice amenities in the room like teas, fruit, and Chinese cookies. The hotel personnel is very helpful and friendly with whatever you ask. At breakfast the food is freshly prepared. This hotel was really the highlight of my one-month stay in China.…
We stayed in this hotel during our Huangshan trip. It's located in the ancient town of Tunxi, which has 1000 years of history. Instead of staying in an international branded hotel, this time we choose to stay in a boutique hotel in the old town. The hotel mortified few very old buildings into a modern and beautiful boutique hotel. It's located in one of the alleys of the busy main street. It's like an oasis. The hotel is designed in a very elegant Chinese style. Apart from the beautiful architecture, the service of the hotel is very good as well. Staff are very attentive and friendly. Before you arrive at the hotel, give them a call or send them a WeChat message, a butler will come out to the entrance of the old town to escort you to the hotel. I stayed in a deluxe double room. The room is spacious. The design is in a modern fusion with a touch of Chinese style. Even it's a China boutique hotel. They provide Aromatherapy toiletry product, which really surprised me. Complimentary minibar, tea, fruit and sneck provide every day. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. If you want to see how does this hotel look like. You may search "Kaiyuan Life Huanchun" on YouTube, and you will find a video that I took for this hotel on my Affordtable Luxury Travel Channel.…
