This is, by far, the best hotel I stayed in China. It is a cozy, quite, and clean place. The building is over 150 years old, however the bathroom is brand new, very good shower, very good air conditioning, very nice bed and linen. The owner picked me up at the airport with no charge and his wife took me to town to shop for certain items I needed They have staff who speaks English and they go out of their way to help the guests.

We stay here for 2 nights. As mention by many other guest, it is not easy to locate even though it is the most centralize location when you find it. The hotel arrange a one way pick up from the train station if you are coming from Shanghai. But since we were arriving by bus from Huangshan we have to find our own way. Getting to the Old Street is not a problem. The address indicate 142 Old Street so we started searching for 142. We arrived at 142 but it was a shop selling food item not a hotel. Ask around but no one seems to know where. Call the hotel and they came round to get us. Basically there is a very small lane just next to the shop 142 and you have to walk through this small lane to find the reception. You could easily miss it just like us. Anyway we goty our room. A little small but clean. Chinese wooden bed, very hard for my liking. The owner of the hotel was fantastic. He arrange a private car to take us for a tour and also organised to help us get tickets for the theater. Would definitely recommend this place for the location. Plenty of shops around and many many restaurants.

This hotel is very difficult to find. Our driver pointed us to location on Old Street but speaking/reading only English we could not locate it. We had stayed in Huangshan Old Street Xian Inn two days earlier, before we went to hike Huangshan Mountain & stayed on the Mt. 1 night and had also had trouble locating that hotel. We only found the Huangshan Old Street Inn because we were spotted on the street (blond haired women pulling suitcases) & stopped, them telling us "hotel" until a young woman arrived with some English & told us they had our reservations & led us to the hotel off a twisty narrow alley off old street. We showed several persons the Chinese directions of this inn, the Xishan Wutong Qinyuan Inn, but received various responses & no definite location. Finally we decided to go get our luggage at the previous hotel & ask them if they knew where our next hotel was located and to our surprise it turned out to be the same hotel. They own 3 buildings on Old Street & apparently you stay in 1 of them depending, I would guess, on room availability, which would explain the different hotel names & addresses on the booking site. Once you know where the hotel is, the location is great, just off Old Street in an alley. The building itself was very old with plank walls, open courtyard, fish pond, antique beat up furniture-lots of neat character- and it has been fixed up with all the modern conveniences-good plumbing (nice shower), plenty of hot water, heating, individual room A/C, combination door locks, WiFi, etc. The hotel is a quiet location & our room was basic but clean & comfortable although the beds are very firm -typical of much of China. We wanted the same room we had previously and had enjoyed but was told it was now $120 yen more for that room, so we stayed in different room. The room again had 2 beds/sleeping areas and this room had a small balcony. However, this room had a plank floor which had wide cracks between the planks and was over a lounge area/bar with a group of boisterous people there so it was very NOISY! Finally, at 9:45 PM the people in the lounge area left & it was finally quiet. There is not a "front desk" or service at this building- they just took payment in cash after showing us our room. Someone was waiting downstairs in the courtyard in the morning to walk us to breakfast in another of the "hotel" buildings, again an older building down another narrow ally, where we sat in a courtyard & were provided some fruit, rice pancakes, fried egg (we're vegetarian), & coffee/tea for $25 yen each-it was very good.

Very nice and atmospheric place. Nice furniture. English speaking student was very kind and helpful. However, not easy to find a place and one has to switch from one place to another (the tenant has 2 different places, you will have to check in/out and have breakfast in a different place). Most annoying: shower is in the middle of the bathroom without any kind of isolation (not even a curtain): you cannot go to restroom or even enter the bathroom after you had a shower. Quite annoying...

This is a hotel in an old building, completely in old style with nice decorations, in an alley next to the main "old street" in Tunxi or also called Huangshan city. We had booked a so-called 2 bedroom suite, which actually was just two bedrooms and a common bathroom for the two bedrooms. The bathroom was connected to one of the bedrooms. Matresses were a bit hard, like usual for many hotels in China, but still soft enough for a good sleep. Beds were also long enough for me, I'm 1.89 meter long. Heating was through the airconditioning unit, which worked well. It was allready turned on when we entered the room. The bathroom has a good shower with good hot water. Unfortunately it is located directly next to the toilet, so this will become wet, when showering, so needs some planning. Breakfast is in another old building nearby, the hotel staff will bring you there. Breakfast was good, baked egg and baked pancakes with spring onions. Small banana. Good freshly made coffee.

The hotel is filled up with Traditional Chinese style and let you sense "China" from the time you enter the hotel with wooden floor and furniture. The hotel location is great as it is on the Old Tunxi Street, easy to find, with shops and restaurants around the hotel. Staff here in the hotel are friendly and warm. Recommend to others who are searching for a nice place to stay on Tunxi Road.

the hotel location is perfect, right in the middle of Tunxi old town. the staff was really nice and helpfull and spoke good english. they helped us plan out all trip to the yellow mountain and wrote all the explanations in english and chinese. the hotel itself is an old building and the room was ok. dont expect too much, but it is a good place to spend a night if you are going to the yellow mountain.

Really wonderful staff, you will feel at home when you stay with them, very nice people and super friendly. And the hotel combined with authentic local taste without losing the comforts. Highly recommended if you are going to visit Mt. Yeallow (Huangshan). You will not regret of staying with them.
