Exceptional rooms, food and service from the entire team. Our guides worked with us to structure a program to get us to the AltiPlano over 4300 metres. Recommend Explora to anyone wanting to experience the desert

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

A must do in South Amererica. Atacama is an astounding place with so many wonderful landscapes to experience and explora was an amazing way to do so. The hotel is lovely and the food is excellent, but the real magic is in explora' model which emphasises experiences and includes access to 16 amazing, knowledgeable guides who shape your stays and...

Explora is the best hotel in San Pedro de Atacama. With a beautiful architecture and the most welcoming staff, all inclusive, you just have to relax and enjoy the beautiful desert. João Pedro, the manager and the tour guides attend to everything you need, explaining and suggesting the day trips to be made according to the weather. The food is...

A great experience awaits you at explora Atacama, as in their other properties. Here the luxury is more outdoor, this said the indoor are great. Nice and comfortable room, tastefully designed and decorated and very practical. The common areas are huge, with lots of space in this brand new building, and the staff is faithful to explora's reputation. Great team...

On arrival, we're greeted by the Hotel Manager. After lunch, we're given briefing on Atacama Desert & got arrangement for our afternoon guided tour. Don't forget to sign up for the Evening Observation Session, which was very privileged being in the best area for star-gazing. Also not to be missed is the Hot Spring, owned by the Hotel. 2 out...

If you are looking for a luxious and active way to explore the Atacama desert look no further. This was a wonderful experience with friendly expert guides, comfortable acomodations, and wonderful meals. The Explora really makes things easy. The BBQ was the most amazing dinner, with roasted meats, dancing, and live atacamanian music. The Explora fosters a community feel, bringing...

It was just great! Even at my age of 71 I could enjoy many unforgettable experiences. Good advising and very good guides - friendly and with exzellent Knowledge. The all-inclusive concept works perfectly here. And of you want to see something else you can bike to the village nearby.

Explora hits the sweet spot at the intersection of value, amenities, comfort, and activities. Attentive and friendly staff without being smothering. Delicious food and wine without being pretentious, this carnivore even enjoyed several vegetarian meals during his stay. Well appointed rooms and common areas with plenty of space. A multitude of daily activities to choose from to keep a week's...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our lodge is located on a plain known as the Ayllu de Larache, once inhabited by an ancient Atacameno community. We have respected the original layout of the land and restored and maintained some of the buildings.Opened in 1998, our lodge is situated on 17 hectares (42 acres) of grounds just a few minutes' walk from the town of San Pedro de Atacama. In the area surrounding the lodge, we have maintained the ancient pathways and buildings which form a labyrinth that invites exploration. There are 50 rooms housed in three long buildings, positioned to form a central square planted with large trees for ample shade. On the fourth side of the square is the building which houses the lodge's public spaces. The views from the lodge's broad terraces enable you to enjoy Atacama's vast chain of volcanic mountains. In 2008, we set ourselves the challenge of intensifying your explora Atacama experience, remodeling the furnishings and the indoor and outdoor spaces. Now that the work is complete, we are pleased to be able to offer you new facilities and services. ... more   less
