Freezing cold. It would be appreciated to install some kind of heating. bathrooms are outside. Having a shower, was really a task of courage. Cold Cruel stay staff members friendly and helpful enough. No party atmosphere. very calm. located between highways. but not so far from the most beautiful area of Porto Alegre

Pros - Friendly and helpful staff - Good communal areas.... large well equipped kitchen, great games room and a handy computer to use - Decent private double room with comfortable bed - Good location for Cidade Baixa - Handy supermarket closeby Cons - All the powerpoints were reccessed so you needed an extra adaptor (although the staff were kind enough...

Thank you Porto Alegre, thank you Hostel Porto do sol. I only stayed a few days but first of all: AMAZING SERVICE and STAFF. Helping and smiling all the time. I got to know Betsy, Erica and Caroline who I loved . Like in any good hostel I was able to stack my backpack before I checked in and after...

2 of us stayed here for 2 nights. The room was quiet, but very cold, even with blankets. Everything is outdoors, so it´s a cold walk to and from the showers in the chilly mornings. The staff were not engaging at all and we relied on guide books for everything. Beds were like cement to sleep on. Location is convenient,...

Have been there in 2011 for 6 weeks and I really enjoyed my stay. Owners were very nice and friendly, they even took my friends and I to a football game (International!!), which we really enjoyed. They made us a private room for us 4, even if they don't do that usually. They often do little parties outside, they make...

I stayed there for 2 days on last week. The hostel is well located, the attendants are nice and helpful, the bedroom (I stayed on an individual one) is comfortable, the breakfast is good and there I met cool people (including some that, just like me, went to the seminar of Political Science that happened at UFRGS). At night there...

This place perfectly met our needs. We stayed in a 6 bed dorm. Great breakfast, and they even gave us a free breakfast the morning we arrived, fresh off te night bus. Good facilities, including guest kitchen and communal areas. Pool table. Only complaint I can think of is the noise from the road outside if you get one of...

When i first got to this hostel I thought it was cool. It has a pool table that double up as a chilling area, a good kitchen and a few sofas in the reception area. The breakfast is ok, though as the portions were pretty limited. My overall thoughts of the hostel were better than average at first, esp. when...

The hostel is well located, not far from the airport and also close to a bus stop. I was there for 3 nights in a private single room. I think the hostel is OK if you stay there for a short period of time. They should improve some things, such as: at breakfast they often did scrambled eggs with sausage...
