Good breakfast and central location giving you great proximity to the beach and shops. These things help keep.the 3 stars rating, the rooms bring it down. The rooms themselves where not something to brag about. Old, single small and hard beds. Noisy AC (but it worked fine) and one could hear trough doors.
Large bright rooms with bathroom, cleaned daily, very helpful staff and informative. Small bar in entrance and near to many restaurants and bars, metro and main bus stop within 30 metres..It is quiet there and quality high street with confectioners and many buses passing by....easy to get taxi..highly recommend this hotel.
I work in hospitality so i always look and check hotels. This one was so good! I came early in the morning and they checked me in, the room was very good. It was cleaned every day. The breakfast was from from 6.30-very good because im a very early person. The selection is amazing, everything is fresh. The sweets are OMG. For 3 stars i was impressed. Would love to stay one more time there.
When I arrived, the receptionist was very rude, because I booked the hotel on booking.com. The rules are stupid, I payed for 10 days, practically living here, but I could not bring a friend up in the room for ten minutes. The breakfast is ok, nothing more than that. I am used to travel all around the world for work, and what I most care is how people treat which other. In this hotel I didn’t received the minimum of good hospitality. Just ok hotel! Next time I will use an Airbnb or just already known hotel as íbis or mercury.
My husband and I stayed at Hotel Canada , Copacabana for 6 nights on our visit to Rio.We enjoyed the excellent location a few minutes walk to Copacabana beach and promenade .Our special thanks to Martins,Anna ,Giovanni and the breakfast staff for all their assistance. Martin was fluent in English and wonderful to us.He went the extra mile to give us guidance and directions for our day trips. The bus stop is outside the hotel and the metro station is a 15 minute walk .The supermarket and Mc Donalds are a few metres away . Pensioners travel the trams in the city centre free and the metro is free for over 65s ,free or discounted entrance to the museum and botanical gardens. We would definitely stay here again. With a hot and cold buffet for breakfast, the hotel is very good value .
The hotel is quite old, but it is clean, the staff is helpful and the location is very good. Breakfast was Ok and the price quite good. It is just one street from Copacabana beach and very close to quite a lot of restaurants and shops. There is a bus stop just right outside the hotel and you can catch buses going to the Sugarloaf mountain and Corcovado.
I wasn’t staying at this hotel as a guest, rather waiting for someone in the lobby. The old man employee asked me if I was staying there, and I said no. He told me I could not sit on the couch, I need to sit in a chair where he could stand over me… he made it clear that my presence was unwelcome. Clearly I made him uncomfortable, so I just left and waited in the street. So I sat on the nasty side walk sucking in fumes for half an hour until my meeting took place. Thanks hotel Canada!
It's a nice hotel, normal. It's simple, clean and it has a good location, it's close to the beach in a nice area. We had a room where you can see the Cristo Redentor. Good service. The toilets are regular and smell weird.
Is near everything in Copacabna. But there is a guy selling hot dogs in front of this hotel. They use loud electronic equipment to announce their products. Is something crazy. If you are looking a peacefull place avoid this place.
I've stayed here a few times in Rio and this 3 star hotel has an awesome centralized location in Copacabana 2 blocks from the beach, a great authentic hot Brasilian breakfast included on your room rate and fantastic staff. The rooms are clean, and while an older renovation, there is nothing wrong with it at all. Everything works perfect, you have NET TV, a great hot shower, minibar, and best of all........it's very quiet given its location. Oh yeah.......the A/C keeps you cool without freezing you to death.
