It was difficult to book a hotel for my wife and my two kids, but this hotel met what I was looking for, big double beds and space for them to play. The breakfast is very good with lot of options to choose and very good fruits. I need some hot water and honey for a medicine, called the reception...

Overall, I liked this hotel. Location was decent enough, though at the quieter end of Copacabana. Breakfast was a great plus and was included in the room rate. Cleaning was reliable and done to a good standard. Beds comfortable and clean. We also had a good view from our (17th floor) room. On the other hand, there were a few...

I tried to book a room at this hotel for August 2016, that is during the Olympic games in Rio. My travel agent first received a quotation from the hotel for a triple room, which I accepted. When my agent went back to the hotel, they withdrew the offer claiming that there was no availability. I then contacted the hotel...

Brasil is difficult when it comes to travel with 2 kids. Very few hotels have 2 double beds in a room an even less of 4 stars and above. Non of the world well known such as Sheraton, Mariott, etc. would accommodate us 4. Then if found the Royal Rio 👍 Looked a bid outdated via Internet. But one being...

Stayed here for 4 nights in Rio and really enjoyed our experience. The staff was very accommodating the wifi was free and worked well. The rooftop pool has great views of the city and a bar so you can enjoy a few capirinhas or brahmas as you hang out. The front desk was quick to answer questions about the city...

We stayed at the Royal Rio Palace during carnival this year. Excellent location, just 2 minutes walk from Copacobana beach. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast and room service were good. The roof top pool is quite small and there are only a few sun loungers and they could fit a few more up there.

This hotel is located only 200m away from Copacabana. Perfect place to stay during a Rio holiday. But: The management is reluctant to think about required changes: the breakfast room is totally stuck in the morning; sometimes you need to wait 15 minutes to get a table. It's incredibly loud and the staff works like hell to get the crowd...

I stayed at this property here for 7 nights during Carnival. What I love most about this hotel was its location. It was about 2 blocks from Copacabana Beach, shopping areas, and metro station. You are located between 2 very busy Rua's so food isn't a problem. Hotel does offer breakfast which was very good, and Room service also. The...

We stayed at this hotel for a week during Carnival. It is just a few hundred yards away from Copacabana Beach and very close to a Metro station so it's easy to get into town. Taxis aren't very expensive either if you don't want to use public transport. The hotel rooms are standard layout with a comfortable bed and decent...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
