I wasn’t looking for much, just wanted to spend the short time in Rio near Copacabana beach before leaving the next day to Iguacu. Hotel is actually on the Leme end of Copacabana, just a side street (Rua Gustavo Sampaio) away from the beach and parallel to the main Avenida Atlantica that runs along the beach walk. The street for...

The hotel is old and slightly run down but it is very clean and the staff go out of their way to be helpful, particularly the front of house staff. The cleaning staff work very hard to ensure the rooms are kept to a high standard each day. The breakfast is excellent: plenty of bread, fruit, cereal and cooked items....

The no's: the elevators slow, furniture around the 60's. Extremely well located. Its OK for the price. Great breakfast. Friendly people from top to bottom. Clean. Good bathrooms, good TV set, phone, free very fast internet. Close to the beach, good area if you're going to more expensive Windsor Atlantica, 70 feet away.

WE stayed here in April 2013 during our 7 days trip to rio. Nice clean accomodation, good staff and Nice breakfast offered... but will be boring after 3-4 days as the food will be same every day. one problem we faced is ..even if the hotel says you get wifi in your rooms... we didnt get it in ours. Very good location near the bus stops and the beach. It has a second row location just behind the Windsor. They classify their rooms in three categories standard, superior and luxury. If you have not been to the hotel before it can be tricky and confusing: you could be paying for a luxury one but in fact getting a standard...

Just one block from the beach makes this hotel pretty handy. Its a simple hotel, with basic but clean and good sized rooms. Unfortunately the walls are thin and you can hear everything going on in the corridors, but if you are not a light sleeper this is fine. Fabulous breakfast! The reception is roomy and the staff are helpful....

The best thing about this hotel for us was their breakfast. We loved it. The location of this hotel is good too. What we did not like 1. We were one couple and an adult son. They gave us one large room with 4 single beds, hostel style. Not even close to the pictures they post on this site. 2....

This is a great place to stay. The hotel itself is nice, the rooms are comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful, despite our language barriers. The location is fantastic. A block from the beach and within walking distance to a lot of great restaurants.

Staying in Copacabana

Neighbourhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
