Good hotel for small business weeks in Rio de Janeiro, good location in central Botafogo, Good Sleep, Clean Rooms, and nice breakfast. Easy to find taxi and good restaurants and entertainment around this area.
The vast majority of hotels in Rio are on Copacabana or Ipanema / Leblon i.e. near the beaches. I wanted to see the city for five days rather than the sand, so based myself here. I was very pleased with my choice. The hotel is in a safe and well-lit area only 50m from Botafogo metro station exit E. The reception staff speak good English and were helpful with questions. There is plenty of choice for bars and food in the local area. I had a standard room and it's ... an Ibis, so clean but basic. The wi-fi was reliably strong and the breakfast was plentiful, although in typical Brazilian fashion there was a lot of sugar involved. My room on the top floor had a view of Cristo Redentore, which was a nice bonus!
Fabulous stay in a great hotel. The staff & restaurant Manager were so lovely, friendly, super professional & helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here for everyone. Close to bars & central Metro, markets & restaurants. Five Star service for a very competitive price. Thank you, the Rio Trio xxx Tchau xxx
Everything's standard about this hotel. But that's exactly what I was looking for. And affordable price. So I have nothing to complain about. All the staff that I talked to was really polite and helpful. Well done.
I’ve stayed 4 nights at the Ibis in Botafogo. It’s in a useful location, and reception staff’s capacity to speak English was adequate. The room was undecorated, basic and small, but has the necessary comforts with everything in good working order. Great air-conditioner, which is needed in this climate. Breakfast was good and exceeded my expectations. Ask for a room on the higher floors for better views. There are good views of the famous Christ the Redeemer statue.
Everything as expected, good reception, very organized common area, beds and bathrooms very tidy and sanitized. Good, fresh food with plenty of variety. The people who work are trained to perform the service efficiently. I had no problem.
The hotel was clean, modern. That's the ideal place if you have a limited budget for your stay in Rio. The location is perfect, between the center and Copacabana. There is a lot of places around for going out.
The Ibis Botafogo is very well located, close to the Botafogo metro station and many bars and restaurants. The staff was always very kind and helpful. I enjoyed the Café da Manhã, it has a good selection of cakes and fruits and good bread.
It is a pitty. It was my third stay ar this hotel. They charged my credit card on the day of the online check in and again after my check out. I am traveling and moving to another state right now and it is difficult for me this boring thing of complaining calling the hotel. Well, I called and they said that I will need send my credit card bill extract to them to proof that I did not pay twice...
This is a basic hotel that has no fancy amenities, but is in a rather good location if you want to stay in Botafogo. It's not extremely expensive. I stayed here because I had to come on short notice to Brazil for work during the Carnival season, and there were almost no hotels left in the area. The breakfast is a basic Brazilian breakfast, but it's pretty good. The rooms are plain, but they have clean sheets and decent AC, going as cold as 18 C, which I really appreciate. The front desk staff doesn't speak perfect English, but I appreciated the opportunity to practice my Portuguese, and they were very friendly and amenable to talking to me, even though I don't speak very well. There is no gym at the hotel, but I did go to the Smart Fit a couple blocks away, which is about twenty-five reals (a little over six USD) for a day pass, which isn't too bad. It's an all right smart fit, with decently heavy dumbbells going up to 30 or 35 kg, a couple bench presses, an incline press, a squat rack, and lots of cardio machines, and it wasn't too busy, even during the evening. Overall, it's nothing special, but if you want a reasonable hotel in the Botafogo area right next to the metro, it's a good place to stay.…
